Would you rather have any of these guys over Barrie ? Especially with Barrie on the power play in Edmonton with McDavid , Draisaitl and company.
    Burns , too old ?
Karlsson , injuries taking their toll ?
    Hamilton , obviously I would think .

Would you take any of Burns, Karlsson, Hamilton over Barrie ?
I don’t know if any are available. Just wanted to see where Barrie stacks up.

I prefer Hamilton over Barrie . You might only get one year of Barrie in Edmonton.

Last year I picked Barrie in a one year league, hoping for the sky.

I ended-up quite disappointed while Hamilton got there, at the top!

I will pursue Barrie in drafts this year for the potential but wouldn't take over Hamilton, Dougie's def the choice.

I agree that Hamilton would be the guy to obtain. However would Karlsson or Burns be an upgrade on Barrie.

I agree with the consensus that Hamilton over Barrie should be a no-brainer. Personally I'll take Karlsson (who even when injured last season put up almost 40 points in less than 60 games) over Barrie who will just be taking over for Klefbom's usage which typically got him about 45 points in a full season.
Burns is at the bottom of the list.

Agreed with the above on Hamilton and Karlsson over Barrie. I'm also taking Burns given there are SOG, Hits and Blocks in your league as Barrie tends to be lighter on the peripherals. It's a keep 6 league so with a chance at a win every year, Burns' age is not mattering as much for me.

Everyone is going crazy over Barrie in Edmonton... but that was the exact same situation last year. McDavid is amazing, but he's not the team; Toronto had/has an arguably better PP, and Barrie couldn't lock down 40 points.

Obviously his usage was down in TO, but there are quite a few young D in Edmonton that I'm guessing they'll be happy to swap Barrie out for if he struggles.

I'm taking Hamilton over Barrie, quite easily. The other two it would come down to draft capital. I'd probably take Barrie over both, just given age/injury history/situation.

If we go back to his pre-Toronto days, he had 116 pts in 168 games in Colorado. He was a far better offensive player than Dougie Hamilton during those times, yet Dougie is the majority winner here so far (I assume for the other stat cats).

The problem with Barrie is most are scarred from one season in Toronto. We really have no clue what to expect from him in Edmonton. He could just as easily turn back to Colorado Barrie but none of us own a crystal ball.

I'm curious, looking at your signature, I see this is a keep 6. Is this your team for the upcoming season after a draft or are you considering keeping Barrie (or one of the other Dmen you're asking about)?

This is my team for the coming season. We have already had the draft. I doubt Barrie would end up being a keeper.
To have an outside shot at Hamilton, Barrie would have to start the season hot and I’d still have to add to him.
Karlsson probably could be had in a swap as the owner is an Edmonton fan.
Burns might be available as a part of a deal only because of the age factor and the hype of Barrie being a 60-70pt man playing with Draisaitl and McDavid.
The other option is to hope Barrie starts off well and then promote to trade him.

Personally I'd just hold him and see how it goes. I do think he bounces back in Edmonton and boosts his value but that's simply based on situation and opportunity.
