be much easier if you did update your sig or give us more info on your scoring system, roster ect.
without knowing any of this, i think Fs have higher % rate of success so would go with Denisenko. Both are highly regarded prospects.
Hi gents,
Ignore team in signature - it has not been updated.
Tough choice for my final keeper spot - have to drop one of Evan Bouchard or Gregori Denisenko. I am strong at both positions, so just looking at pure upside and potential for this year/beyond.
It is a salary cap league with both are on entry contracts, so salary is not a factor.
League scoring categories are simple - 1 point for both goals and assists plus wins (2) and shutouts (3) for goalies.
I see Bouchard as having huge potential on Edm PP - but Barrie blocks him there for this year I think. Denisenko should slide into a top 6 spot for Florida, but there are no guarantees. Dobber prospects rates Bouchard as having 8.2 upside and Denisenko as 8.5 - not sure if positions are taken into account or not with these.
Bouchard may have the bigger name recognition, and therefore be harder to reacquire in the draft or via trade, but I am not sure on that one.
Regardless, I see each as having a bright future and considerable upside - with neither salary nor position as factors, which of the two makes the better keeper for my squad, and which should be dropped?
Any input/help appreciated!

Second the comment on updating your roster.
neither player has made their respective NHL teams yet. I'd much rather keep a player guaranteed to play

I'm curious why is it down to those two? What are the other options that is forcing your hand here.

If we're considering only whether Denisenko or Bouchard is likely the better keeper, I'd go with Bouchard.
OK - tough crowd.
Signature has been updated, and the scoring system was in fact included in the original post.
I ask again - Bouchard or Denisenko?

6D vs. 12F in a 24tm keeper - Bouchard

Were I you I'd swing for the fences and keep Bouchard but to be honest if you're having a hard time deciding, just flip a coin.

Based on your roster/league settings, and presuming there's roughly a 2:1 ratio of F/D (23 player roster, 16 starters, 7 bench?), personally I think they're pretty evenly matched in regards to upside. Just running a quick exercise based on those settings, and assuming everyone keeps a similar ratio of positions (they obviously won't, just a quick and dirty), then their points-above-replacement is almost identical for their upside, and Denisenko will produce faster. Would need to adjust for real world keepers/draft pool, and most poolies arguable covet D.
The other thing to keep in mind with Denisenko is he's a right shooting LW, so a pretty solid candidate for dual eligibility if your league allows for that.
If the ratio of F/D is actually 9/6 though (as your starters indicate), then I'm keeping Bouchard.
