Help me with This Team

Current Keeper Set up:

Draisaitl/Meier (3 yr), Hall/Seguin (2 yr), Quinn Hughes (R).

Draft Picks: Rd 1 (4), 1 (11), 3, 4, 5, 5, 6, 7, 8

I’d like to preface this by saying I’m still trying to figure out the best route to free myself from Meier’s contract, I have options but the only way I can keep Hughes + a rookie goalie is to get rid of someone, and Meier is my weakest keeper, so the scenario below is based on me freeing up room.
Now onto a rookie trade option, the team that won last year has Elvis who he was planning to carry over as his rookie, however he’s looking to upgrade that spot.
He is offering me a 4th round pick in 2020.
So would you rather have Samsonov + extra pick or Shesterkin?

Notes: Shesterkin is still a rookie this coming season, since he played less than 25 games, so I’ll have the option to carry him over into 21/22 as well vs Samsonov he burned rookie status, so could only carry him over once.

The other gm is saying if I hold Shesterkin and draft Byfield for instance, it would be risky if I sign Byfield to potentially 4 years after next season (which I agree) and that I should keep my rookie spot open for Byfield. However I will obviously need to free up a spot to sign a new keeper after next season since I don’t have any guys expiring, but would cross that bridge when I get there. As to his point about keeping rookie spot open for Byfield, I could still do that and hang onto Shest and sign him as a keeper instead, so Byfield as rookie and Shest as a keeper.

The other way to look at gaining a 4th for Shest is that if it costs a 4th to move Meier, then I can have Hughes as 4 still and Samsonov rookie, and my picks won't have changed, vs if I hang onto Shest and Hughes I'm losing a 4th, however my pick situation overall is good anyways.

4th round last year: Grubauer, Chabot, Gostisbehere, Letang, Trocheck, Rinne, Reinhart, Strome, E Kane, Kopitar, Trouba, Konecny, Ehlers, Morrissey.

Just my personal opinion, but it seems like you create multiple threads for the same players/trade offers...and often with a wall of information which can be confusing. This might explain the TLDR (Too long, didn't read) response above or lack of responses in general. I'm in the same boat. The search bar is your friend!

Perhaps your league is that complicated and there's no other way to explain it...IDK. I just think you'd get better (and likely more) responses if the post is more concise and has a clearer question/topic. My two cents.
