Default Last keeper - Pulju, Glass, or Hronek

Hey y'all, I have one more rookie spot to fill with one of Puljujarvi, Hronek, or Glass. My other rookie keepers are Makar, Kakko, Kaprizov, and Shesterkin. Players are rookie eligible till they hit 170 games played. We have unlimited moves we can make to bring rookies up into our daily lineup. Pulju seems to be a risk/reward type player and will be an expiring rookie in 31 games, at which point I bring him up to stay on full-time or drop him if he hasn't panned out (again) in Edmonton. Glass seems to have a lower ceiling but safer floor than Pulju. Glass may see top 6 minutes in LV this year. And I can keep him as a rookie all year (and part of next year). My concern is that I also have Stone as a veteran keeper and last year it seemed as though I sat Glass (C,RW) a lot because Stone is also listed as RW and VGK played very seldom on off-nights, and my Center position is already pretty deep with Eichel and Point (my other veteran keepers). Hronek to me seems like the safest bet. He has abut 60 games left as a rookie, and given the shortened season this year, he should maintain rookie status all year. Plus, he plays D (always can use more solid D depth) and he could score roughly the same as Pulju or Glass from the D position (40ish point pace over 82 game season) unless Pulju or Glass really find their groove and spot in the top 6 of their respective teams. Who would you keep?

Difficult decision. I'd probably go with Glass. Glass is on a good trajectory to play the top 6 center spot and I trust his development and opportunity more than Pulj at this point.

Hronek seems safe but lower floor and ceiling, especially with Seider on his heels.

Without knowing who else is on D. It is tricky.
But I am between Hronek and Glass.
I like Hronek as he does throw some hits and does block shots too.
I am not 100% certain about Glass for hits and blocks.

I'm keeping Makar and Hamilton as D. So 2 out of a possible 10 keepers are D. Hronek would make it 3/10.

Tough call. I'd look at it from which player would be drafted the quickest in a redraft? I'm a fan of all three but I'd go with Puljujarvi. This year will decide whether he'll boom or bust.
Glass has more games available as a rookie but Vegas plays it's lines pretty evenly and they're in a win-now mentality, no time for rookies.
Hronek is a good player but will probably be surpassed by Seider.

Lol 2 votes for each player now. Anyone want to break the tie?? I think Glass or Puljujarvi would probably get drafted the quickest. Glass because he is rookie eligible till next year and Puljujarvi because we have a few Oilers fans in our league.

There is no data on if it's a full keeper. Doubt it as Hronek would not be available if it was. So it's a partial re-draft each year. I don't get the Puljujarvi hype. We don't even know if the dude can hang in the NHL. Why would I waste a pick on that?

I'd go Glass by a very small margin. With Stastny gone that means that one of Glass, Roy or Stephenson will be Vegas's #2C - which means they'll be winged by some combination of Marchessault/Pacioretty and Stone/Smith. Out of those three I like Glass the best for that role, plus you also get to keep him as a rookie after this season and possibly another after (depending on how long this season ends up being).

Hronek on the other hand is pretty solid too and while he may have Seider taking some time away, he has no other competition - Stecher or Nemeth aren't going to challenge him at all. Hronek will put up some solid peripherals still and likely falls into the 40-50 point range next year, even with Seider.

Puljujarvi has the lowest floor of the three and at this point I don't see his potential upside being that much higher than the other two. He also carries the most risk in regards to reaching that upside.

In a vacuum I take the upside and flexibility with Glass, but you've said that you're already fairly strong at C so if your D is lacking I wouldn't have any qualms about keeping Hronek instead.

In my draft Hronek was picked sligthly before I take Puljujarvi. Glass went much after.

Every year I like to take 1-2 gambles. Last year it was Galchenyuk with Pittsburg, and DeAngelo 😱

This year it is Puljujarvi. So it is what it is, a gamble.

I'd keep Hronek. He offers the best combination of utility & production this year along with keepability next year.

I think Puljujarvi is likely to still be an enigma when you have to make the call as to whether to keep him up or not. Glass could be good as Vegas' #2C, but if he's the #3C, that's not good enough to pass on a teams #1D.
