Vrana vs Meier

[Still learning]

Hi everyone,
in a keeper league, point only who do you prefer next year and in 3-4 years.

I'm rebuilding right now and I thing that Vrana is the better player to own but by how much...?

So do you think that Vrana is the better player to own and what will the gap in point next year and in 3 years?

I prefer Timo Meier here. I think they will probably be somewhat similar points wise next year but washington will be in a rebuild in 3 years and san Jose at least has some youngish producing guys already in their current core. And I like Meiers role more too. Give me him next year and beyond personally.

Hmmm. This one is harder than I had expected when I first read the thread title. I was Meier all day. But I've been studying Vrana a bit more and he's got my attention. Even on PP2, he will have Ovechkin who plays on both units and a PP with Ovie is solid. But these guys are the same age, both 2nd line wingers and over the past 3 years Meier ranks better in Goals, Assists (by nearly 10 each), Points (obviously) as well as PPG, PPP. So while I think Vrana has room to grow, Meier does too and he's already better than Vrana.

I think I go Meier here but wouldn't fault you for taking a chance on Vrana.

yeah in points only i think its closer than initial reaction would indicate. In multi cat this would not be a question.

I do think Meier will be main stay on PP1, specially now that Jumbo is gone but its true that he did loose some time to Lebanc before. They also have 2 strong D for PP for next few years so we need to wait and see how they utilize their players.

I have to admit you are right. Dobber's guide has 7 players on pp1, and 3 on pp2!

just like rest of us they dont have crystal ball. with some teams its unclear who will fit where...im sure they have 3 for sure on PP1 and 3 for sure on PP2 and other 4 will rotate in some form...or have a chance to rotate in some form...i think thats probably why it is that way.

Usage indicates Meier, but talent says Vrana in my opinion.
He was starting to steal some minutes to Kuznetsov on PP1 last year in Washington.
I like how Vrana is trending and would roll the dice that he surpasses Meier.
