Top five chocolate bars

So today, I assume a lot of people will be on edge due to the unrest in the US, so I thought I'd try something to take your mind off it. I saw this on Twitter yesterday so I will try it here.

If you are anything like me, you love chocolate. Even if you dont love it, but just enjoy it, you must have some favorite chocolate bars (or as they call them South of the border, candy bars). So go ahead and list your five favorites for me.

1. Caramilk

4. Reese Peanut Butter Cups (are they even a chocolate bar? Who cares, they are chocolate and PB together)

I found a recipe for homemade Snickers squares, and those are definitely top spot for me. Might have to dig that up soon because I haven't made them in a while...

What's amazing - for me - is that this thread reminds me of beer.
In the way that Reece's Peanut Butter cups... for me... are like the Budweiser of beers.
They are the most purchased & most consumed, but... for me... disgusting.
I love chocolate. I love peanut butter. But these aren't jiving these days for me.
My kids actually just GAVE me their Snickers AND their Reese's PB Cups from their halloween bags becaues they.dont.like.them.
I agree. Yuck.
Maybe it's the manufacturing locally... but the peanut butter is pasty and the chocolate is sloppy.

Chocolate and Beer have had the same effect of me.
I've changed over the years... and what I like... changed too.
The shit I liked as a kid, is not the shit I like now.


Pengwin7's Favourite List:
1. Butterfinger. I do not like mush in my bar. Give me snap & crunch. Just like Granny Smith apples, I want a clean break with each bit. THIS is how you do PB & chocolate. Love getting this stuff stuck in my teeth.
2. Skor. Yeah, the marketing/packaging for this is not "kid-friendly" - so it is the undervalued bar of the chocolate bar world.
3. Almond Joy. I like the effin coconut and almonds OK... OK... I'm a freak, there, I said it!
4. Hershey's Dark. This one is climbing with my old age. For some reason, enjoying Hershey's Dark is like take-the-clothes-off-slowly sex with a woman who knows what she is doing. Eff the electric pink bra... give me the lace.
5. Heath. I like caramel, but I prefer the crisper bar with my current age. If it's spilling onto my lip like Snickers or Milky Way... I just feel sticky, like I'm 5 years old. (FWIW - Heath/Skor are pretty similar...)

For funsies, least favourites:
1. Pay Day. Too many fuggin peanuts. If I want to eat peanuts, I'll buy a bag of peanuts.
2. Snickers. Just.too.heavy. I'm not kid any more. I feel extreme guilt if I eat a whole snickers bar.
3. Milky Way. Ditto
4. Three Musketeers... I don't know... that aerated shit in the middle reminds me of twinkies. I've outgrown that.
5. Reece's PB Cups - for reasons noted above.

Crunchies I completely forgot about because I haven't had them in so long. Not in my top 5, but great nonetheless. Skor is awesome as well, but it's better as little chunks in ice cream.

I don't think they are as good as they used to be but they bring back such good memories of my childhood as my father used to buy them by the caseload from Costco. Whenever he went, he brought back either a box of Snickers or Eatmores!!!
