Heiskanen or Dahlin?

Hey, I was just wondering which defenseman you’d rather own long term? Multi Cat, Points only I think both are largely point centred defensemen. Just wondering what the community felt about this topic!

Dahlin for me quite easily.

In a vacuum, Dahlin. That said, for multi-cat I don't think they're that far apart, Heiskanen is a shot machine, currently the better goal scorer... if/when he takes over PP1 for good from Klingberg, he could be just as good. And he's probs gonna be easier to acquire than Dahlin.

Definitely Dahlin for me. Heiskanen still has to compete with Klingberg for playing time (especially pp time) in the near term. Buffalo is Dahlin's show to run, and I think we will see that this year. I'm also not convinced that Heiskanen's playoff scoring is indicative of his future regular season production. I think Heiskanen is a stud, but he might be one of those players, like Pietrangelo, whose real life value exceeds his fantasy value.

I see that Dahlin is the clear winner here, would it be a question still if Heiskanen can take control of that PP1?

It's too soon for me to tell. I prefer Dahlin's situation, but Heiskanen may make it too close to call if he takes over PP1 this year.

Still early in the game for both of these players. I’ve seen a lot more “generational” talk about Dahlin. They’ve both been in the 150-200 shots/4-6 shooting % during the two regular seasons they’ve played. Heiskanen shot just over 10% in these playoffs, where some of the hype is coming from. I don’t think he’s going to be a career 10% shooter. Again, early to tell. I think Dahlin is the better bet for a larger upside.

Thanks for all of the comments so far guys! I think personally the only way Heiskanen can challenge Dahlin fantasy wise is if he can take control of PP1 over Klingberg which is unlikely I believe right now.

Heiskanen for me. If multi cat.

I think heiskanen will be a stud and provide more BLKs and a little more HITS than Dahlin. He’s a do it all defender, which would put him in all situations, including PK and all, where he will blk and hit more. Dahlin i think may be used more in offensive situations

Dahlin slightly better option , even if I feel Klingberg could be traded soon and Heiskanen would be undisputed #1 in Dallas .

As long as Klingberg is still there , gap widens slightly for Dahlin .

Points only its Dahlin, in multi cat i think it maybe much closer. Probably still pick Dahlin tho.
