This is going to be a fantastic WJC if they can get some of that NHL star power back. Im cool if the NHL wants to start up after the tourney is done lol. I hope the North Americans aren't too rusty.

I won't be shocked to see a Russia - Finland - Sweden top 3 podium regardless of who Canada & the USA send.

Those three nations will have a full fall schedule under their belts before the tournament. WHL, OHL & NHL players (IE: Dach Lafreniere) haven't been playing.

Something to be said about an entire team in game shape vs. a team with 3 weeks of intense practices under their belt.

I would put my money on a Laf-Dach duo
31 TEAMS keep all multi-cat (lot of them) dynasty
Offensive stats : Goals, Assist , PPP, PPTOI, SOG...
Defensive stats : PKTOI, BLKS, TakeAway, Giveaway...
    (basically best NHL player)

I haven't logged into this site in ages! Just wanted to mention to keep an eye on goalie Devon Levi.

He's off the radar for most (7th round pick by the Panthers this year) because had to kill a year between Midget AAA and US college, so he played for Carleton Place in the CCHL last season. He was supposed to be the starter for Northeastern this year. He completely dominated the CCHL last year, winning every individual award, but obviously hasn't faced the same level of competition yet as the other CHL goalies in camp.

Its nice to hear some positive things about the goalies on the invite list because I truly don't know much about any of them. Right now it seems to be the only real question mark with this roster.

Garand is the clear favorite to be the starter. I think the back up role is a complete crap-shoot.

I normally take pride in knowing my goalies, but I am not familiar with any of these kids at all. Im looking forward to learning more about them. Did any of them play U-18 for Team Canada?

Gauthier has a good shot as well. He won gold at the Hlinka with many of the players who are going to be on the U20 team now. He was the backup per se but he played better than the starter.

Garand U17... I think the U18 was cancelled this summer where Garand would have suited up most likely.

28-10 2.21 .921 as the Blazers starter last year.

I also think the Rags got a steal. I figured he'd be an early 3rd rounder. I think his 6'1 height caused him to slip, but he's legit as far as jr's go.

    Ryan Rishaug@TSNRyanRishaug

Robertson, Millman, Simoneau, Hunt, Greig all listed as unfit to play, and unable to continue camp according to Scott Salmond of Hockey Canada. Say these were not hockey decisions, but based on health protocols.

Team will have red-white games to help determine roster of 25.

Salmond said not all tested positive in camp, but two members did and others were exposed. But he wouldn't get into details as to the specifics.

Looks like this thread was on the money with the goalie predictions - Garand, Gauthier and Levi.
