With the criteria of not wanting to wait more than a year, that narrows this list substantially.

Not really a prospect, but Gavrikov is already putting up solid peripheral stats.

Only others I'd consider NHL-ready within a year would be maybe Lindgren, Hirose, Juolevi, Rasmussen, Abramov.

With this mix, you really gotta know where your priorities lie because you can grab someone with ceiling, or you can grab someone who is close, but you can't grab both in the same player.

Ryan Lindgren is perhaps the only guy you can count on to play. He'll do so cheaply, and provide multi-category contributions but has a limited ceiling and only a year left on his ELC before probably getting 3-4M AAV.

Gavrikov will also play, but needs a new deal, so no guarantee he comes cheap and again limited ceiling.

The problem with going short term with limited upside is that it could limit your future options. If you opt for a high upside option, then perhaps you could move him for a bigger impact player later in the season after that prospect pops a little. I'd bet on Brisson or Mysak (could provide the WJC bump) if going this route.

Only you will know what your league and team need. And also, only you will know your appetite for patience and ability to time transactions for sell high opportunities. These factors that have nothing to do with the actual player values should probably inform the decision more than anything.

Anderssen (NYR-LA) - take a flyer on him he has got something to prove.
Also his Dad is scout for LA - he may get a chance there.

Personally, I'd grab Gavrikov. I snagged him last year, and he was pretty useful.

He's unable to be given an offer sheet by another team, so he should be reasonably cheap.

With your criteria, you made that list way too long. Obviously Grans, Brisson, Mysak, Schneider can't have any fantasy impact in a year window.

Gabrikov is the option for short term help in some categories but there is no upside there.

Abranov and Hirose are the two that could have some value in that one year window if they manage to play good when they are given their opportunity. They can also end up in the AHL, but so can any of these prospects.
