Gets another shot. I'm surprised he has not been traded. Gives the Isles some much needed cheap flexibility.
Pretty good AHL salary actually.

It's unfortunate that Ho-Sang gets discussed more for his attitude/issues than his hockey.
His numbers at AHL level are pretty decent. I think he's still got 3rd line, or low-2nd line upside.
I do think he's one of those guys that could excel with a change of scenery.
So I doubt he's a long-term Islander... and would love to see him with a new organization after this 1yr contract.
He'll be an interesting player to watch play, going forward.
Plenty of teams are getting value out of imperfect players. Shelter his minutes and give him a spot somewhere on the power play. He'll be fine. He's already had good stretches in the NHL.
I'm not sure stubborn Lou will let it happen though.

Does this take him to UFA? If so, I too am eager to see him move on. Not necessarily a fan, but in the end, if the isles have no intention of using him and are trying to make an example of him, it really is time for both parties to move on. The only way this makes sense is if the Isles are in fact dedicated to shaping this kid up so that he ends up being a productive longer term member of the Isles. If not... it almost seems like a waste of everyone's time.
I'm surprised he couldn't get a one-way deal. Sucks for him but hopefully he can find a fit somewhere next year.
