    Default Pius Suter - expectations?

Can Pius Suter come in and get 30g like Kubalik did last year? With Saad traded to the Avs, does he grab a top-6 wing spot?

The more likely scenario. I see Suter as a 3rd liner.

Having watched Suter develop in Junior, I'd say he has the potential to be a good depth player (likely not GREAT).

Think Fellow Storm Alum Brock McGinn in Carolina. Just my take.

accuracy aside, Par Lindholm is the name I keep thinking of in terms of expectation for Pius. Was a good 3rd/4th liner who killed penalties.

I think perhaps there's a bit more upside offensively but 10-20 - 30pts seems like a good expectation.

The only Euro/KHL player coming over for the 21 season (since there's no 2020 half of it) that screams fantasy worthiness is Mikko Lehtonen.

Actually yes. Par is a very good comparison as well. Definitely a good depth player is really my point.

Kaprizov? Sorokin (technically a goalie, but still a roster player).

As for Pius, at best I see him as a complimentary 2nd line player, if he gels and has chemistry with a player could put up maybe 35-50 points at his peak. Likely winds up somewhere in the middle six being deployed where he needs to be.

Being Swiss I've probably seen him play more often than most of you guys (it doesn't matter much, I know, but I have to enjoy the rare times this is the case with players )

His pts in the Swiss league are comparable to what Kubalik has done here. But Suter's offensive style of play is argueably less suited for the NHL than Kubalik's. His defensive awareness is better though which doesn't make Suter a lesser player than Kubalik in real life, but this also means it makes more sense for the coaches to play him in the bottom 6 (where Kubalik wouldn't be of too much use).

Nice job security for Suter in real life, almost certainly less upside for us armchair GMs in fantasy hockey though...

Great feedback Wotan. Been a while since I saw him play in Junior. Really appreciate when someone international can sound in with up to date assessments! Thank you.

    Cheers!
