D Trade Advice

Hi everyone,

I'm looking to trade for a Dman (League 2 in my signature) and am discussing a few options with another rebuilding team who has tons of young D: Dahlin, Provorov, Fox, Dumba, Boqvist, Byram, and Sandin. He's *really weak at forward and goalie though (the only real keepers on his team are Pettersson, Mantha, and Samsonov) in a keep 18. It's a 12 team non salary cap multi-cat keeper. I was thinking of offering Kakko plus Sorokin for Dahlin, is that a reasonable offer? I know it's YMMV, but I wanted opinions on what a good offer would be (I don't want to overpay or make a bad offer). My window doesn't open for 2-3 years and I want studs so I wrote the D how I rank them.
We finished last and second last respectively and due to trades I've got 1st and 3rd overall, he's got 2nd overall. I'll be picking Lafreniere so I'm okay with losing Kakko (I prefer Hughes over him) on NYR.

I'm mulling over what offer to make and any feedback would be appreciated!

I doubt Kakko is holding much value at this moment. I'd expect overwhelming odds that gets rejected.

and Dahlin, well, he's 20 and flirting with 60pts...

Personally, I'm an opportunist. I look for bargains.

Dumba is the biggest potential bargain on your list. Coming off injuries, shitty season - 45+pt solid periph potential. In a MC league he's going to fill your cats.

That would be my target.

Thanks, he has a lot of potential targets so I was wondering whether to put a package together for Dahlin or go after another player. Dumba makes sense.

Dahlin I would refuse, Dumba I would think about it seriously.

If you are 2-3 years away, you will overpay for contracts you won't be able to benefit from in Dahlin, Fox, Boqvist and possibly others. Either go Dumba who is under contract still in your window, or go completely off script and offer 1 for 2 + a top D. In your window, it may be worth the risk and the better play to get Byfield plus...
