Who should I protect?

League point system is 1 point for goals, 1 point for assists. Roster moves are only allowed twice a year, and benches are very deep making prospects quite valuable. Roster has 3 LW, 3 RW, 3 C, 4 D.

I can protect four of these players. Who should I protect? Thanks in advance!

2. Brayden Schenn
3. Elias Lindholm
4. Tyler Seguin
5. Alex Pietrangelo (D)
6. Ivan Provorov (D)
7. Rickard Rakell
8. Matt Duchene
9. Martin Kaut
10. Payton Krebs
11. Cole Caufield
12. Vasily Podkolzin

I think you can safely eliminate Provorov, Rakell, Duchene, Kaut, and Krebs from the conversation. I feel like podkolzin will have more value in a multicat setup so I'd probably let him go as well. I'd protect caufield as a lone prospect. I feel like it depends what your other defensemen are if you protect pietrangelo or not. Either way I think you protect ehlers and Lindholm. So that leaves the last spot between Seguin and pietrangelo for me. Schenn is just too close to that 30 hump and stuck on the 2nd line so I see him just missing the cut.

Thanks folks. Seems like my top 2 prospects are Podkolzin and Caufield... are any of these guys going to be 100pt players?

Odds are it's a no. If one of them will be Caufield is more likely. In a keep-four league, leave the prospects. If you were drafting fresh none of these prospects would get drafted in the top 100.

It's not a keep four league, but I just filtered out the obvious players that I would protect. We can protect 12 players and then the bottom teams deprive the top teams of 2 players per team. So I will lose two guys from that list. But fair point, nonetheless!

Seguin is tough, but he's injured, and I think he might slip though because of that.

Let them take the prospects if they want, since you are a top team.

I wouldnt want to lose caufield personally, especially if it's basically a full dynasty. His trade value is quite high. Chances are the bottom teams are looking for prospects like that. Let them take podkolzin and Krebs and you probably get to keep your vets anyway.

Is this a dynasty doing an expansion and you have to protect players, and whoever doesn't get selected you also get to keep? Or is this just a keep-four?
