Default Help me pick one of these prospects

    Hey all,

I’m up on the clock and after patiently waiting for 3 rounds to draft my guy, the manager in front me of me snagged him up. So I lost out on Perunovich... I had a backup plan and here are the names of the guys available:

Dube (when he hits 80 games in the NHL, I have to roster him so not ideal unless he makes a splash early on this year)
    Peterka
    Neighbours
    Mysak
    Schneider
    Barron
    Blomqvist
    Daws

Who would you guys get for my team in sig? I’m looking for the BPA, not what I lack.

    Thanks for the feedback!

Some depends on how you value defensemen. Schneider and Barron are both excellent, and high reward options. Blomqvist would be my #3 on this list, simply for the Penguins’ track record in finding young GKs who become NHL-ready. My ranking:

    Schneider (bigger)
    Barron
    Blomqvist
    Mysak
    Neighbours
    Peterka
    Daws
CONDORS, 2022-23 league champions, Reg Dunlop Mem Cup

12-team, H2H. Keep 12, but drop 2 of top four skaters, and also 2 of next six, then five more (from end-of-year rankings). One GK max.

I do like Dube a lot, but not sure he's making a significant splash early on.

Peterka, Mysak and Neighbours are others I like a lot, in this order. Neighbours looks like a nice option in multi-cat leagues like yours but the big guys tend to take longer to develop. I really like Peterka's landing spot as Buffalo looks eager for winger help, especially skilled ones. I tend to let Dmen slide over forwards in fantasy unless they project nicely. I really like Schneiders game but the Rangers are flush with D right now so I am not sure how long you'll wait for him. I think Barron will be a better real-life Dman than a fantasy one but time will tell.

I would go Dube..drafting here for the upside.

If you're worried about the risk, then Mysak would be my #2.

In a 14 team league, I think pretty much all of those prospects would be barely roster-able (especially looking at your current pool).

As such I'd probably go with Dube - while unlikely, there is still a very real chance he breaks out big-time this season if he gets time in the top 6. If he doesn't start off strong I'd have no qualms about dropping him once he hits that 80gp mark.

If you do want to get a guy who's value could grow this season I'd go with Mysak then. Also another name worth taking a look at is Helge Grans who I'm guessing is still available judging from the forwards you listed. He's off to a great start with 5 points in 6 SHL games (and in 5 separate games too, no huge outlier game boosting his stats). I think he'll be this year's Lundkvist d-man who's value explodes.

I like Dube as well, but agree if Grans available grab him. Dube may slip to your next pick.

Thanks all! Went with Dube after all. FWIW, Grans was taken but he was originally on my watch list

Thanks again and will rep where I can!
