I'll take a flag pole or even a shooter-tutor over Matt Murray. Pucks just go through him, when he's healthy, which is never good.

    Gibson for me.

How the heck did he win those cups ?
Well, sounds like Gibson is an easy choice overall, regardless of which team may or may not be slightly better. Murray's a funnel now, and an injury-riddled one at that.
    Thanks all.

well he was decent in cup runs...he is not anymore...people change...skills diminish..sometimes they come back but i dont see him as a top 15 goalie and Gibson definitely is.

Like others have said Gibson is the better talent by far. Both teams are struggling, but I give the edge to Anaheim. For these reasons, you take Gibson here.

Winning Stanley Cups is a TEAM thing, not a GOALIE thing. If it was just up to the goalie, they'd have shooting contests. I realize goalie play is important, but any NHL quality goalie can get hot.

Murray's been an below average goalie 2 of the last 3 years. He gets hurt a lot and is erratic in-season. Ottawa's D has been porous. He has actual competition in Nilsson & Hogberg. He just got paid - which could be good or bad for his play.

Gibson was below average and Anaheim's D was bad last year. I like Anahiem to be relevant sooner which helps with trade value. He doesn't have much competition.

I'd take Gibson, and I have Murray on a cap dynasty roster I inherited, and have been unable to find a taker for him in the last 2 years that gave me reasonably adequate value back, and I was willing to sell cheapish.

Gibson is my choice here. Both goalies are part of rebuilds so it will help if Anaheim gets to contention faster but like it was said I think he is the better goalie.

This thread is over a year old. I think the question is probably moot.

Without much info on if scheduling matters, id still go Gibson. Murray hasnt been good for three years. Hasnt been good is been nice, he's been bad.
