Couture for Larsson and Tatar - off season move

Hey everyone,

Offered this off season move on the second team in my sig. It's a keep 15 league with 3 rounds in the draft. I was offered Larsson and Tatar for couture. I've got a log jam at C and a need for winger and a D that puts up the banger cats. Would you do it?

This is an easy accept for me. I'd have Tatar rated above Couture as is, so getting Larsson back is a nice bonus.

Positions are listed above the players. I've basically got Couture, Kadri, Tavares, McDavid, Karlsson and Hintz who occupy center. I'm thin on the wings and need a 3rd D who's a blocks/hits guy

Given your positional logjam, I'd consider that, but note two things:

1. Tatar doesn't have a team right now.
2. Tatar is not going into the last year of a contract right now.

What do you mean he doesn't have a team right now? In his contract year, one would expect him to light it up.

It would leave me with:
C - Tavares, Mcdavid, Karlsson, Kadri, Hintz
LW - Svech, Hoffman, Tatar
RW - Buch, Puljujarvi
D - Pietro, OEL, Josi, Larsson
G - Samsonov, Grubauer

One of these skaters would end up having to go/be cut. What would you do with this?

Do you have to drop anyone else to make this work? Or we're past the keeper date and you can keep both no problem? If yes, I consider it if you need it, but still feel like you could do better. (Full disclosure, I don't love Tatar or Larsson for fantasy purposes).

Given the fact that this costs you a keeper spot, it's now Couture/drop vs Tatar/Larsson, and given the players on your roster, it's a hard no from me.

If you had already set your keepers and this didn't cost you a keeper slot, I'd consider it, but not anymore.

I find it's harder to make trades with the fringe players when everyone has to work on their 15. There are a lot of those fringe 15 guys available, and not a lot of people willing to give up assets for them as they are typically a minor upgrade at best. I would make sure you can find a trade first before banking on being able to move a fringe guy for picks.

I don't think Larsson cracks your top 15 and is probably easily drafted, so it's hard to consider him part of the deal. In that case, it's Couture vs Tatar being even at best (I have Tatar lower).

With those two points, this trade just doesn't make sense to me. Fine with moving Couture, I just think you can do better. Do Couture for Tatar + a draft pick, then use the draft pick to draft Larsson. You get to keep an extra guy that way.
