16 Team Dynasty Cap League - New
New league is launching this fall, the Senior B Fantasy League.
LEAGUE FORMAT (hosted on Fantrax):
16 teams, salary cap (cap-hit), dynasty, H2H weekly matchups, daily lineups
G, A, PPP, SOG, Hits, BLKS, SHTOI // Wins, Saves, SV%, GAA
4C, 4LW, 4RW, 6D, 1G, 4Bench (23 total) // 6IR, 10 prospects (under 20 yrs OR 40 games)
Unlimited trades, limit of 2 FA/waiver adds per week
DRAFT
The draft is a 6-round draft. Each real NHL team is split into three parts: forwards, defense, goalies.
Each manager drafts two forward groups, two defense groups, and two goalie groups. For example, my 6 picks may end up being: CLB-FORWARDS, NSH-FORWARDS, DAL-DEFENSE, FLA-DEFENSE, FLA-GOALIE, and CAR-GOALIE.
You then have the rights to these players from which you will select your “keeper” roster to start the league. Any player you do not keep will go onto the waiver wire.
Every year thereafter, we will host a 4-round prospect/free agent draft for incoming prospects and free agent adds. Draft order will be reverse order from end of season standings.
BUY-IN
$25 buy-in (we use Fantrax Treasurer), 100% paid in prizes (Fantrax dues paid for by the commissioner):
1st place champion: $125
2nd place: $100
3rd place: $50
9th place: $25 (best of the worst award)
Best regular season record: $100
Dynasty prize: $100 (awarded every 3 years to the team with the most wins)

A little about the commissioners (Dan and Greg): we've been playing fantasy hockey for over 15 years across all types of formats but love the salary multi-cat the best. Dan is in Pittsburgh. Greg is in Denver. We're both dads and want a league that is challenging but a bit lighter-weight. If you're a dad or anyone else that loves fantasy hockey but can't give hours every day to it, this league is for you. It's designed to focus more on constructing a team through trades, FA, and drafting than it is about the daily work of setting rosters and gaming free agency.
