Default Chicago to go with their young goalies next season...?

This is a bit surprising given the Hawks were linked to Matt Murray and the number of other solid goalies looking for jobs.

"The expectation is that the Blackhawks will sign Malcolm Subban over the next few days after not qualifying him. Chicago will go with their young guys in goal next season."

Presumably that means Delia-Subban. Maybe some Lankinen sprinkled in? I guess we will see if they can resist the temptation to pick up one of the many veteran goalies that are available in free agency.

If this is true, which I doubt, whomever is competing against Subban should win that job - maybe both of them, honestly. It's great news for Delia, I think; probably good news for the rest of their depth chart.

I think this is bluffing to mislead people about the team's FA intentions.

Hawks were in talks to acquire Murray but could not come to agreement on extension, so no, the Hawks will not rely on Subban and company.

Bowman does not have a long leash here. Neither does Colliton.

The Hawks will make a goalie signing.

Subban didn't get a qualifying offer. Not to say he couldn't be back but highly unlikely.

Figure they will take some stabs at the UFAs. They can say they will go with the young guys but I can't see them putting all their eggs in the basket of a tandem with a combined 18 games of NHL experience.

Do ya'll think Delia is worth picking up in my prospect draft (new league not done inaugural yet) could give me a foot up in the inaugural having an active (even if backup) goalie.

I'm on my 4th and 5th picks now, currently got Makar, Bouchard and Farabee, considering taking Alex Nedeljkovic and/or Colin Delia, it's a 24 team 28 farm system league so very deep, 2 active goalies 3 min starts a week.

Nedeljkovic first, by far, and I have Delia on a deep dynasty roster.

You're just everywhere helping me aren't you, Steve? haha.

I'll definitely be taking Nedeljkovic unless he goes with the next pick, but I have two picks available, should I go with a skater instead? or perhaps pick a long-term goalie prospect before they get snapped up (like Luukkonen)

Weird. Last night the Blackhawks are now believed to be resigning Subban.

Even if they do bring Subban back, I would anticipate they will still sign a UFA this weekend.

Maybe they really like what they see in Beniers and are going down the tank road.

The Subban signing is great for delia, as I'm pretty sure Subban isn'ta threat to any decent goalie. Now it's up to Delia to take that job.
