Depends on where he goes and the situation he gets put into.

I know Edmonton is pushing hard for him with the news of Klefbom most likely missing the full season next year. That would be a good situation for Barrie. Going to someplace like Nashville for example would not be a good spot for him. He's not stealing Josi's time.

    It will all depend.

If he goes someplace with a favorable deployment, around 55 points is my expectation.

I am quite sure he gets back to 50+ this year. He gets to choose where he goes and will ensure it's the right fit for him. I am guessing if he had a say he would not have chose Toronto if he knew how Babcock planned on using him. He started producing under Keefe but was still not very good overall. If he lands in a place like Edmonton that is starving for a player like him, he should have no problem getting to 50.

I have a hard time not seeing him having a career year if he takes over PP1 in Edmonton and everyone stays healthy. A lot of ''ifs'', but if he does indeed sign in Edmonton, there is no other defenseman I would take before him in a points only 1-year league. So I guess these are exciting times for Barrie owners if there is any truth to the rumors.

I also agree with this - situation is key. He doesn't get to fully pick where he plays, he just picks out of the good offers he gets. With Pietrangelo also on the market, he may have to wait.

People thought that about Barrie on that Toronto PP1 This pas year. If anything it was a career limiting experience (at least for earning potential).

Yeah the Barrie/Leafs experiment went really badly. Not sure why. I go to quite a few Avs games and man was he always great when he was there. Great skater. I have to think, IF he lands in the right situation he'll be back in top form.

As a Barrie owner (and Leaf Fan) that would make me very happy! Hopefully the Leafs experiment lowers his cap hit and he's able to explode for cheap!
