Yeap. I definitely heard many reports stating that. Seems hard to believe in some respects, but the market is definitely flooded and Vegas did themselves no favors by signing Lehner and basically removing any leverage they might have had.

Good gamble for Ottawa, but it is more of a gamble than it appears. Lots of smart goalie people say Murray has to fundamentally change his game to continue being successful in the NHL. We will find out soon if he can.

Depends what he is re-signed for. If he is re-signed for to a 4+ year contract, it is a huge gamble.

If they sign him to a two or three-year deal for reasonable money, it isn't much of a gamble. Ottawa won't be a playoff team with or without Murray regaining his form. At worse, he is a reasonable stop-gap until one of their young goalies emerges as a legit starter. At best, if Murray does re-gain his form, they have someone to mentor their younger goalies and potentially re-sign to an extension later on.

Well, I just more or less locked up the Ottawa crease in my multi-cat dynasty. Already have Nilsson.

If Murray gets $3M or less, that works for me. Otherwise, he gets stapled to my minors roster or dealt.

He'll get more. EB has him at $3.89 per - my guess is around $4.5 in his new home.
