wow, this is awful news.
Correctly recognized as an amazing guitarist, but never got the recognition he deserved as a song-writer. Widely considered a wonderful soul too.

so many memories of this band in my life ; the first time my older sis unwrapped the vinyl and cranked ''you really got me'' to high school dances in '84 when we'd all jump high whenever Roth would say may as well Jump to cruisin in my car in the 90's on a hot summer night listening to the song summer nights .

That's such a beautiful thing about music - no matter your race, religion, political affiliation, gender, whatever - none of it matters.
