man what is the cap on that league? you have lots of high priced guys ...if u need cap space i woudl maybe consider doing it and ask for another piece maybe...but Laf would be lucky to ever be as good as Eichel is imo, not saying he cant but thats absolute ceiling ...pure hockey talent and where they are, i would not.

Depends - do you consider yourself a contender? If so, then do not make this trade. If you're not going to contend, then yes. You're F are decent but losing Eichel would hurt. But if reloading then dump his $10 mil and bulk up elsewhere.

My other question is what is PK Subban still doing on your roster???

Horrible idea... Why would you move an absolute Stud for a kid who hasn't played?... Lafrenier can only hope he ever gets to Eichels level and we haven't even seen Eichels peak yet !!… If you need Cap space get rid of Subban and Neal!!

Love Laf but I pass here. Cap space is nice but only if there is a plan to replace the production or you're going into rebuild which you're obviously not.

Well McDavid gets you about 9 pts/million spent. Eichel about 8 per mil. On an ELC if Laf ends up with say 40-50 pts that's about 40 pts/mil. If you can somehow unload Backstroms $9.2 mil I'd do that first.

Problem with that concept is then you end up paying $20M for 20 third liners that each get you 40 points. It's not really the kind of analysis that makes your team better.

You are right that the cap differential has to be taken into account. Though in leagues that don't have a difficult cap system to manage, I would prefer Eichel.

In this league, which if I remember right, has easy cap management - bench doesn't count - I'd pass. It's slightly more difficult to get all your studs into the lineup on the same night, but other than that, it's not a big deal.

I'm in a multi-cat league where our actives and 2 reserve spots count, but the entirety of our AHL/minors don't, and there one can make up for an Eichel versus Lafreniere difference easier, because I could demote Lafreniere, and bring up another cheap guy with no waiver exposure, and do that all year.

Your bench is limited, and it's points only, so harder to get decently productive cheap depth.
