I can't post comments on main page (ramblings, articles, etc.)

I can't post comments on the main page for things like the ramblings and articles. It says I need to log in, but the only log in option is for Facebook (I don't use Facebook). Can anyone help me with this?

I'm in the same boat. I can't remember Dobber's reasoning but the only way to comment is with a Facebook account.

What works for me is to not comment on the main pages!

True...I was just going to comment on Gaudreau not being on the list of possible trade candidates but couldn't figure out how to do it.

Is this still an issue? We aren't happy with the commenting process right now, but so much in the queue to fix or add

I use chrome and notice that often the comments don't even appear, a reload or two and it appears.

As someone who doesn't, and doesn't plan to, use facebook, I would like to be able to comment but understand if using a facebook widget is the simplest option on your end. That said, since twitter has taken off I find that you're one of the only authours to goes back to articles to engage with commenters. The engagement with readers is one of my favourite parts of my Athletic account and it would be nice to have a similar writer/reader relationship on the Dobber network, even for nothing other than commenters can help and point out any errors in articles which overall improves the quality of the content. I'm sure the engagement is there to a point on twitter but that's just another social network I'm not going to sign up for.

All said I'm just putting my two cents in fully realising that I'm someone with no smartphone, or any social media accout, and I'm not exactly the target demographic for digital content.

It was a quick fix at the time when we didn't have any time, but that won't always be the case, we'll have some time to create a login system I think at some point

Agree some of the comments get out of hand, but sometimes there are corrections (not typos) to bring to the attention of the writer. Other times it's simply to give kudos for a great article. Agree the debates are best placed here.

I'm signed in with facebook through it and don't have any issues commenting. Not sure if that's an option for everyone?

I don't have FB so I can't post comments. I never usually did except to say it was a nice article or to point out a correction. Sometimes to ask someone to cover a particular player.
