Default [RUMOUR] Nashville Open to Trading Center

Apparently Nashville is open to trading a center. Their centers are Johansen (8mill, 5yrs), Duchene (8mill, 6yrs), Turris (6mill, 4yrs), and Bonino (4.1mill, 1yr).

You are going to have to get really creative to move one of those centers.

I'd imagine the only center they could get assets back for is Johansen. Everyone else they would be paying to get rid of.

I mentioned this in a previous thread about the Preds dealing one of Duchene or RyJo. I think it's smart but I don't know how great their value is right now in a flat cap.

No one is touching Turris, even if they ate 50%. He's still got four years left on that contract. Nasty.

Maybe trade one of their top 4 D and get a younger cheaper C (not saying Nylander... but ... well ... Nylander type) and put them in a position of buying a guy like Turris out...

Teams love right handed centers so I'd agree.

If I were a gm, I wouldn't touch any of them with a 10 foot pole tbh.

Maybe a team that as cap space and want to bet on Rjo bouncing back...maybe

Is he a big upgrade to Ryan Strome, especially when you consider what Stromes new contract will be vs RyJo's?

I guess that depends a lot on whether you believe last year was the real Strome or an anomaly of a season

It wouldn't surprise me if there are teams out there that would take on Duchene if the Preds ate some of the salary.

He's only 29 and one season removed from scoring at a point-per-game pace. Centers are always in high-demand, and Duchene would be an upgrade for a lot of team's centers (Minnesota comes to mind).

    How about this:

Bonino to Ottawa with a 1 round mid-range pick upgrade, once Nashville pays his signing bonus. Say, a 3rd for a 4th.

Helps Ottawa hit salary floor with 1.7M in money somebody else spends, clears a roster spot for Nashville.

I don't know the contract side of it, but Montreal was in on Duchene during Free Agency weren't they?
