Amirov (20) and Perreault (23) are going surprisingly low.

And Grans not going in the top 30 is shocking to me. In what type of league are Guhle and Schneider better fantasy hockey options? ��

Grans went 39th in a prospect draft I'm doing atm (2020 only) (24 teams). I took Gunler at 15 and Simontaival at 34, I was going the highest available off yours and Cams joint fantasy 2020 prospect rankings, was really surprised to see Grans still there but Simontaival was higher so I went for him.

I completely agree Amirov is way to low and Perrault should also see his stock rise. As for Grans, I think he’s suffering from a guides/rankings effect where he’s lower on some lists. I’ve noticed some GMs value IRL rankings over what a player projects to be fantasy wise. It’s a small sample and ahead of the NHL draft so I think we will see some major player movement in the ADP as fantasy drafts start mirroring the NHLs.

Gunler ADP 17.75 high of 12 and a low of 27
Simontaival ADP 44.875 high of 33 and a low of 59

You're also comparing a couple forwards to a D, and we all know in fantasy drafts that most will reach for forwards and let the D slide so to see the forwards going a lot higher than the D here really shouldnt come as a surprise.

i agree with you 100% about F over D and its my philosophy too...however in 3 of my leagues i was close for few years and but i did not win until i improved my D. So i do try to build a very solid D all the time in multicat leagues...this changes in points only.
Having said that, i also dont try to draft too many D, i prefer my D to be 3-4 years older than F on average if i can as those are guys that produce most and when it comes to forwards, on average younger guys are producing more.

I have no issue with high upside type forwards like Simontaival being taken ahead of Grans in points-only leagues, that's what I would do as well.

But I see no league type where defensive defensemen like Schneider and Guhle should be taken ahead of offensive defensemen like Grans. Unless it's a league where points don't count but only hits and blocked shots do. I've never seen such a league, though.

All the picks have been added to this post now. A total of 105 picks because we had to add five extra picks (one per round) because one franchise was left to a terrible situation without any picks when the GM left.

That Arvid Holm pick seems really odd there. With 20 non 2020 guys picked before that point there were some really nice guys left and I just did a 1300 player draft including 2020 eligible guys are Holm went undrafted

I actually thought it was a really good pick. Holm is definitely flying under the radar but he shouldn't be. Had an excellent season in the SHL, and is only 21 years old.

LOL! No kidding. Wait until after this years WJC when Byfield is no longer down the bench and is a key cog for Canada.

Through 10 drafts and this is the first I’ve seen it as well. Stutzle has fallen out of the top 3 twice (4th both times and both times Rossi taking the 3 spot). It’s a first for Byfield.
