Thanks..I agree i think he is trying to juice me for more. Thanks for your input guys.
He countered with Drouin+Sergachev+Demko for my DuBois+Pulock+Sorokin which was a no brainer for me to reject.
Stick with what you got. I can’t see how the Isles re-sign Toews so Pulock May finally have more PP time. Sorokin and Trotz is a good combo to have.

I would want all 3 pieces on your side over his side.
It's a fair trade but clearly he values players differently than others. It's the nature of the beast sometimes. Personally I think the 3rd in your offer was unnecessary as the skaters/goalies are pretty equal but that's how I saw it. It's not groundbreaking but it was still a hair more than I would have offered.
Keep what you have if he didn't like your original offer.

Thanks for your input guys. I am not sure I would do this anymore. After reading your valuable input and the fact I was at the time willing to add a 3rd made the deal even more favorable for the gm who rejected the offer. I think he would need to add now for me to consider doing the Sorokin-pulock for Demko-Sergachev deal. Cheers boys!
I prefer Demko/Sergachev by a large margin. You get both younger, better and more proven. It's a trifecta of success. Demko is younger than Sorokin and already has a few years of NHL experience under his belt. Sergachev is 3 years younger than Pulock and has better numbers already.
I like Sorokin a tiny bit more than Demko, though you'd have to wait an extra year to get the dividends on Sorokin
I like Pulock over Sergachev
I like the 3rd pick over no pick
So yeah, I like your side of the deal more anyway.

"you get younger"
The problem with this all too common statement is that it isn't relevant in this case. In keepers, all players are traded within 2-3 years. So why worry about age unless they are 2-3 years away from a decline?
"Sergachev is 3 years younger than Pulock" just says to me: "you have to sit on Sergachev for three more years on your bench while you wait for him to get to where Pulock is now...after sitting on Pulock for three years on your bench."

I have officially made it on the Dobber forum! I am getting trashed by the legend himself!!!
I agree with you that age is not that important but it never hurts to get younger. It is also said that NHL players peak around age 25. Pulock is already past that while Sergachev still has 3 more years of growth. Both players are entering their magical 4th year. I would also say that this is the first year that Ryan Pulock has started to play at the level that Sergachev reached as a 20 year old.
I also disagree that all players are traded within 2-3 years. In my 31 team dynasty league, the average number of seasons my starting 20 have been on my team is 4.05 seasons. I have had one player, Brent Burns, for 10 full seasons. I acquired him and a pick (used on Brenden Kichton) for Luke Schenn and a 4th round pick (used to draft Justin Sefton).
