I'm so happy for TB. I am a huge Jon Cooper fan. Signing and trading for players with a little bit of grit, Maroon, Coleman, Goodrow and just having overall quality depth players is a big part of winning the Cup...and a bit of luck (with injuries, other than Stamkos).

Pretty amazing to me that the team can lose their team captain in Stamkos and still do what they did. I think Tampa Bay is a great story. Stevie Y did a fantastic job while he was there building the foundational blocks and Brisebois did very well this season bringing in quality depth players who really solidified their roster. That team roster looks like a championship calibre team.

I really love everything about that team. It's such a good group of guys.
You can just see it. When Stamkos decided to stay in TB... to win it with that group... it says a lot.
I smiled to see him hoist that cup.
Every great NHL player - I wish them to hoist that cup once.
Great for Stammer... and all the guys on that TB... it was a first hoist for all of them ('cept Maroon - and pretty sweet for him, being cast off his hometown STL Blues... to win again).
Great run by the Stars.
I was especially impressed by their D, not just the scorers (Heiskanen & Klingberg) but the stay-at-home guys were really solid.
Up front, Pavelski... man... that's why I love him. He was soooo good. Out there on the dot for every key draw. Says a lot.
Good to see a rally behind Perry's play. Gurianov & Kiviranta so good.
And Khudobin... just wow. Hope he gets paid. He deserves it. Brought a smile to see him and Vas chatting in handshake line, just happy for each other to be there!!!
I know some people aren't invested in sports right now.
But that was one of my favourite Cup Finals of all-time.
[now... if only I could find/bump the thread from 4-5 years ago when BigEv and I were discussing whether TB or OTT was going to be the long-term real-deal. I officially, officially win that debate!!!]
