Pretty disgusting. Couldn't believe it when I saw this last night. I get that all teams have made cuts (all Canadian teams except Toronto have cut at least 20% salary). I get it. I accept it. I'm a business man. But 50% is gross. Melnyk obviously really wants to keep that 17th car and 9th mansion.

I wish I were surprised that Melnyk needed to be told that guaranteed contracts can't just be slashed when it's inconvenient to honour them.

Gee, why does Ottawa have trouble attracting Free Agents? Ownership is first class and will take care of you and your family when the chips are down..oh wait, he did what during the pandemic!? Never mind.

League should force him to sell. Probably the most disliked owner throughout. Any player with an expiring contract should publicly state they're not staying as long as he's in control. Embarrass the crap out of that steaming pile of poop!

The NHL would be good be rid of Melnyk. He's a poster boy for corporate and personal greed run amok.

They don’t have to publicly state it, it is happening right in front of everybody. The Sens can only sign players that have one last dying shot to remain in the NHL before they retire from hockey or go to Switzerland and remain a pro in a wonderful country.
