Default Ranking The Elite Young Defenders

In a Multicat Keeper: G A Pts PPP Sht Hts Blk +/-

How would you rank the likes of Makar, Hughes, Heiskenan, Dahlin?

Anyone else you would consider throwing in the same conversation/ranks or soon to be?

Not sure it 23-25 is too old for you, but I would also throw Chabot, Theodore, Provorov, and Werenski into the conversation.

In this setup I would rank them:

    Theodore
    Makar
    Heiskanen
    Chabot
    Werenski
    Provorov
    Hughes
    Dahlin

I think that Heiskenan, Dahlin and Makar all can make a case that they are no.1 on that list.

For the outsider, if Deangelo leaves, I would put Adam Fox.
31 TEAMS keep all multi-cat (lot of them) dynasty
Offensive stats : Goals, Assist , PPP, PPTOI, SOG...
Defensive stats : PKTOI, BLKS, TakeAway, Giveaway...
    (basically best NHL player)

Based on a nice mix of age, situation, immediate impact and upside:

    Makar
    Hughes
    Dahlin
    Heiskanen
    Chabot
    Werenski
    Fox
    Provorov

Could easily be much different by the end of next year though!

    Im similar to Napoleon's...

    Makar
    Hughes
    Dahlin
    Heiskanen
    Werenski
    Chabot
    Provorov
    Fox

I'm mostly looking at offense with this list though so if you think guys are similar enough offensively you can always readjust for the peripherals. For instance, Hughes is one of the least physical players in the league, but could be the top point producing dman as soon as next year.

12 team H2H Most Cats Wins; Keep 6/winner keeps 7; G A PPP +/- SHP SOG HIT BLK PIM // W SV GAA SV% SHO
    3 C, 3 LW, 3 RW, 6D, 2G, 5 bench

    C - McDavid, Crosby, Tavares
    LW - DeBrincat
    RW - Meier, Miller
    D -
    G - Jarry

I could totally go with these minor switches as well as I struggled with these exact changes, haha

Heiskanen and Dahlin could be swapped as well tbh

So hard to nail them down when they all have so much room to grow still

I could get behind these rankings for points only, but I feel you guys are disregarding the multicat aspect completely. Like you mentioned pmorrow, Hughes won't give you any peripherals, so he's basically hitting half the categories for this setup.

Having hits + blocks will put Hughes at the bottom.

I would consider all of the others about equal. Heiskenen a bit lower than Dahlin or Makar because top PP isn't always guaranteed with Klingberg in Dallas also.

Hughes doesnt hit or block, I'll give you that. But he will put up loads of G,A,Pts,PPP and his SOG and +/- will be just fine also. I guess I could see him below dahlin and/or heiskanen in this format but that's as low as I would drop him personally. He will just put up too many points to take too much of a value hit imo.

Ppg upside defensemen dont come along every day.

None of the big 4 are really h +b machines anyway

Lets be honest, all of these guys are the cream of the crop in regards to young Dmen coming up and all of them do something a little different. They all score and all are their respective teams go-to guy for running their PPs. I find it very hard to rank these guys because they all do something special and all of them are special in their own regard.

Chabot (although isn't on your list but been mentioned) is the best from my group for hits and blocks but Ottawa is terrible so he's the worst for +/-. Theodore (although isn't on your list but been mentioned) is the best for SOG. Makar was the best in PPG/avg. Hughes was the best for PPP.

For me, I'd probably rank them this way, with a very fine line between them all:

    Dahlin
    Makar
    Chabot
    Heiskanen
    Theodore
    Hughes
10 Team, Points Only, Cash League

25 Man Roster (no position), top 20 point getters count at end of month
Keep 20/25 at seasons end, Cut 5 to FA for redrafting
    Goalie points W=2pt L=-1pt SHO=2pt

Stamkos, Tavares, Eichel, Mercer, JRobertson, RThomas, Kucherov, Nugent-Hopkins, Tuch, KConnor, Necas, Point, Konecny, SJarvis, Cozenz, Morrissey, Bouchard, Josi, Novak, Tolvanen, Peterka, Brink

    G- Vasilevskiy, Sorokin, Oettinger

I was about to post my ranking but good ol Axe threw it down first. This was my thinking off the bat. Dahlin is the clear #1 imo.

based on OP only , i have slightly different approach to this .... i think this is how you rank them for now until they separate each other a little bit.

    Makar, Hughes, Dhalin, Heiskanen

    in no particular order

all 4 are studs and they will most likely rotate year to year as to who has biggest value...one that may have a little trouble to keep up with others in your set up is Hughes as he maybe worst D ever when it comes to physical element. However he may have the highest offensive ceiling of them all.

Wait and see approach would be my recommendation on this one.
    14 Teams H2H Dynasty, 28 roster spots (8 bench), 15 minors under 100
    Weekly Matchups - Daily Lineups

    Skaters: G/A/Pt/PIM/SoG/STP/H+B/ToI/Corsi
    Goalies: W/GAA/SVs/SV%/SHO

C: Eichel, Kadri, Mcdavid, Sodeberg, Schenn
LW: Ehlers, Landeskog, Meier, Debrusk, Foegele, Lee
RW: Pastrnak, Marner, Palmieri, Terry, D. Brown, Bailey, Granlund
D: Krug, Josi, Ekholm, Faulk, Muzzin, Karlsson, Cernak,
    G: Hellebuyck, Biship, M Jones
