I agree that his value can’t possibly be lower at his new landing spot. But he has not been a C for the vast majority of his NHL career. Wasn’t a C for his productive years with the Wild, wasn’t a C in Nashville. He will not be viewed as the answer to any team’s void at 2C. At best they would see him as someone that can fill in at C due to injury.

Recently I got Granlund for Shane pinto and lias Andersson. I think that will turn out to be a nice little gamble.

As regards Granlund, he would be a great fit in Winnipeg playing alongside his fellow Finn, Laine.
if Gorton does anything other than select LaFraniere first overall, I will drive four hours south to Manhattan and personally castrate him.

[QUOTE=MasterX57;2072517]Although he has been consistantly producing all season, I agree with the fact it just might be because he plays with Panarin.
Rangers will have to trade or let go of either Deangelo or Fox if they don't trade Trouba.
Won't be possible to keep all 3 in New York considering Trouba's contract.
Let's not forget Chytil is there as well.
I see him taking over the 2c soon.

I am all for shipping out DeAngelo at what is going to be his highest market value after this past season.

i agree with you about shipping him out cause he gets paid a lot after last season.

I dont agree about it being highest value, i think he still got another gear...he was always absolute elite talent but never had his head screwed on right, i think he is mature enough now that things just fit together for him.

but speaking of not being to afford too many Ds at high contracts, i wonder why they have not signed Lundkvist yet..

Lundkvist is signed with Lulea and had openly said he doesn't want to come to the states with COVID going on.

I know it derails from the subject,

If I was the NYR gm, I trade Strome (I don't want a 7-8m guy on my 2nd line that only produce while playing with panarin) for assets then I trade Deangelo for a 2way dman i.e Weber vs Subban. Also, I target Mikko Koivu. They need vets in that locker room to show the way to the younger guys even if it's for 1 or 2 seasons. I let chytil play on the 3rd and rotate with Koivu. If you don't do that, welcome to cap hell and you might become the next TOR or EDM.

moves will happen, their window truly revolves around Panarin. I def see Tony gone with Fox being equally capable and on an entry level deal. Trouba trade was a god awful move that really handcuffs them financially but if Hank retires that's a large chunk of space recaptured so we'll see. The addition of Alexis really changes things and puts them into the contention window arguably now. Koivu a respected player no doubt but he is too old now IMO. There are plenty of vets to show kids the way, Marc Staal been playing for this team since Kakko was three years old.
