What are your best trades with others GMs in recent years?

I think mine is probably last off season where I traded a 2019 10th round pick + 2020 8th rounder for Carter Hart in a Cap keeper league. Won last season and still have 1 year on his elc.

    You?
8 Teams - Season long points only limited keeper (7F, 4D, 1G) cap league using cap hit
    Active lineup : 20 (12F, 6D, 2G)
    Bench: 6 (3F, 2D, 1G)
10 trades for FAs + 10 moves between lineup and bench
    G (1 pt), A (1), W (2), SO (2), OTL (1)

F: McDavid, Stutzle, Hischier, Hyman, Konecny, Raymond, Perfetti, Guentzel, Bratt, Drouin, JT Miller, Peterka, Guenther, L. Carlsson, Zary
D: Makar, Q. Hughes, Malinski, Durzi, Harley, Sanderson, Clarke, Lundkvist
    G:Sorokin, Demko, Georgiev
NHL cap : $83.5 cap (bench doesn't count against cap)

Awesome, was thinking about rooting around for a couple trades. Mine was Klingberg and Debrincat straight up for Pettersson in a points only keep 8 (kept Letang). Ended up Klingberg/Debrincat for Pettersson/Letang.

Interestingly enough, the guy I traded with did this:

    Debrincat & 2020 5th, for Laine & 2020 3rd
    Klingberg & 2020 8th, for Hamilton & 2020 6th.

So he got Laine/Hamilton (plus a couple decent pick upgrades) for Pettersson.
    Ice Cap

    Dynasty, 32 team cap league (1:1 NHL Cap/Floor), H2H weekly, points (G: 1 / A: 1 / Blks: 0.1 / HTS: 0.1 / SOG: 0.1 / W: 1 / SO: 1 / SV: 0.05)
    Start 12 F, 6 D, 1 G, 4 Bench, 27 Minors/Prospects

I took over a dynasty multi-cat salary cap team going into 2018-19.

First year, the deals were almost all moving around with draft picks, except for one small deal to try and get some goaltending help, as things were dire. Snuck into the playoffs, but nothing that year really sticks out.

This past year, I made 2 deals that I felt would help me a lot, since I was giving up players that I planned to cut, due to them being too expensive.

    1. Give Cody Ceci & a 2020 3rd for Kevin Shattenkirk & a 2020 5th. This was after he got bought out & went to Tampa.

Since Shattenkirk's cheap salary meant I could move him up & down without needing to clear waivers in this league, so he would get into my roster regularly. Shattenkirk clearly outproduced Ceci, who didn't see any time on his new team's main roster.

    2. Give Artturi Lehkonen and Esa Lindell for Warren Foegele, Brock Nelson, and 2019 pick 4.02.

I was a bit worried about Lehkonen's new deal coming in too expensive for me to shuttle him up & down without needing waivers. The other team seemed to have a need at D, and I knew with the D I had coming that were getting raises, Lindell was not worth keeping. I liked what I saw of Foegele in the 2019 playoffs, and I felt that Nelson was a guy who wasn't too expensive but had a track record of being solid in this league, and would fit in way better than Lindell, as we have 12F and 6D.

Lehkonen's deal came in cheap enough that I didn't need to worry, and he outproduced Foegele by a bit, being a fixture in his new team's lineup. However, Nelson was a fixture in mine, and was the best player in the deal this year. Lindell was the worst player using Fantrax's "Score" metric, and he wasn't cracking my defense.

Points only pool; traded Laine straight up for Kucherov 2 years ago.

    I'm content.
