He'll end up looking good because his team will be talented, but I'm going to guess he'll be a terrible coach for 2yrs.

I can see this. He was such a catalyst that he will have to learn how to react when his players don't see the game as naturally as he did.

Won't matter who they have or who their coach is after Giannis signs with Toronto this off-season

I have a Steve Nash t-shirt that has become my painting t-shirt.
    That is all. Also cool...
The name Naismith is nearly Nash. (say that sentence three times fast!)

He DOES sort of have that Steve Kerr/Gregg Popovich/Phil Jackson cool-factor going for him...
    I think he'll do well.

Will be interesting. I think Durant thinks the game very well, but dealing with Irving will be challenging. He's a beta who sees himself as an alpha, has proven he isn't an alpha, yet demands to be considered an alpha.

There was a lot of tweets today about how many black, qualified coaches who should/could have got this job over Nash.
10 Team, Points Only, Cash League

25 Man Roster (no position), top 20 point getters count at end of month
Keep 20/25 at seasons end, Cut 5 to FA for redrafting
    Goalie points W=2pt L=-1pt SHO=2pt

Stamkos, Tavares, Eichel, Mercer, JRobertson, RThomas, Kucherov, Nugent-Hopkins, Tuch, KConnor, Necas, Point, Konecny, SJarvis, Cozenz, Morrissey, Bouchard, Josi, Novak, Tolvanen, Peterka, Brink

    G- Vasilevskiy, Sorokin, Oettinger

Even with a (sort of) rule, the NFL struggles to hire qualified black head coaches. Teams should be able to hire whomever they feel will give them the best chance of winning, regardless of race. I see the NFL (sort of) rule as just that. They are trying to force teams to at least look at qualified black candidates before making a final decision. I don't think it's had much of an impact, but if it helps some coaches who might not have received any consideration, then I don't see it as a bad thing.

Nash was pass first his whole career. Irving and Durant are ISO guys.

Nash was in the D'Antoni offense and was a big contributor to the game planning side on that team, however, it'll be dealing with Irving and Durant when you draw up a play that has them passing to someone else.

Dumb hire in my opinion. Not that Nash can't coach, but there's a learning curve and this team does not have time to deal with a learning curve. They just spent a lot of money to have Durant sit. They have 3 yrs to win something, and Durant's first yr will likely be a healing yr too. No room to "learn" in my opinion.

    Agreed.
It's a hard position to be in.
I hope Nash does well though.

The race part is a manufactured story. When Nash was hired his name was trending on Twitter and a story about the race angle was immediately forced into the trending list alongside. I checked it out and there was hardly any reaction initially. Then the more gullible people started chiming in.

    Fake news.

Well my twitter feed was certainly floating with lots of comments from writers I follow. Fake news or not, it was clearly news for a lot of people.
