Do you guys see Minnesota needing Byfield entirely more than Lafreniere? I do. Nashville as well. That’s about it.

Or Toronto, same reaction from me, however TO isn't an option (yet). Crazy that we will know tomorrow!

Toronto will have no money to pay him.

I really think he could make some damage in CLB, with Dubois, why not. Every great F appreciate to play with a great center, and D's who can put the puck on the tape every time. Jones/Werenski are one of the best D duo in NHL, if not the best...
That sounds like a three years from now problem.

I don't really love any of these spots. I'm still bitter.

I think Pittsburgh is on the downswing of their competitive arc, so as Laf gets better Crosby and Malkin fall off, so it's not as much to complain about.

I voted for Minny so Laf can actually be a driver but still has solid D around him, plus Kaprizov, Fiala, and some other players growing into scorers like Boldy and Beckman.

So basically, Montreal trades arguably their best Dman for a french speaking scoring forward. Sounds like something they'd do (shades of Sergachev for Drouin come flashing back). LOL!

Best landing spot for Lafreniere, IMO (easily)... is Pittsburgh.
You can't beat having two top end centers and not much for wingers.
The veteran presence of Crosby, possibly as a lockerroom neighbour - would be huge.
And it would be another incredible torch-passing for the PIT franchise.
He's almost assured a spot on PP1 and a good wing spot.

    2. Edmonton is a bit similar, they'd be my #2, but they may still load up one line and I'm not sure Laf is the 3rd wheel game-in, game-out with McDavid/Draisaitl.

    3. TOR (high end Cs)
    4. WPG (high end F group)
    5. FLA
    6. NYR
    ...
    7. MIN
    ...
    8. NAS - too much depth, not a big fan of RyJo for any developing winger

My order of preferences for him:
    1. MIN... (I just think they deserve a high-end player or two)... 2. NAS, 3. NYR, 4. WPG... 5. PIT, 6. FLA (I hate Viola), 7. TOR.... 8. EDM.

I'd argue Edmonton would top Pittsburgh in that both Crosby and Malkin are "aging" and not too sure what high end talent they have at C coming through the pipe. Edmonton has McDavid, Draisaitl and RNH, who are all still young. Personally I think it allows Laf to rack up the points longer than if he were with the Penguins. I'm probably way off base here, but just a thought.
Points only keeper. 12 Teams. No pos requirements. 18 skaters / 3 goalies (2 count for points.) G/A = 1 point each (includes goalies) Goalies = 1.5 for W / 4.5 for SO. Minors - 4 year protection. Prospects added during their draft year only. Undrafted = waivers.
    Skaters: Tolvanen,Jeannot,Drysdale,Benson,Sprong,Fantilli,H .Lindholm,T. Raddysh,K. Miller,Edvinsson,Roslovic,Sharangovich,McBain,Benn ett,Crouse, Luostarinen,Dube,Phillips
    Goalies: Gustavsson,Schmid,Vejmekla

    You may be right.
LW1 with McDavid is about as good as it gets for a singular player's stats.
I'm pretty iffy on EDM vs. PIT as a "best" landing spot. Laf's gonna be a 65/80/90pt player, IMO, on either team for next 3 years.

I think Crosby's maturity is just really something that can parlay well into Laf's development.
McDavid isn't that far off being able to provide the same at this point in his career.
(He just doesn't have the playoff success.)

For an owner in a keeper league, pit/edm/tor/fla would have been the best landing spots.

Nyr is better than a lottery team getting him, but they lack center depth while having winger depth.

I agree the center depth is poor but they can always trade for one. Alas they now have two wingers who drive play for a line like a center. So yes, faceoffs are an important factor and it needs addressing but those two stir the drink on lines like a center as far as play. Rangers also have a second first round pick in the draft from the Canes so hopefully someone like Lundell or Lapierre falls to them. Also signed Morgan Barron to his ELD this summer and he won't be a franchise center but he just may be able to eventually become a number two.

Will be interesting to see what develops.

I think this likely means one of their current wingers won't be back. Panarin is safe, of course. This may lead to a Buchnevich trade.
