Barzal isn't worth the money he's about to he offered.

Honestly, very few of them are worth the money that has to be offered for an offer sheet to even have a remote chance of working.

I'm even talking about the contract offer he'll get from the Islanders.

There's a slow mo where you can see the Leafs ball going up the tube and the Rangers ball just coming out of left field with a hit stick demolishing hipcheck to boop the Leafs out of the way to seal the fate of the draft.

You know how in basketball, the teams that don’t make the NCAA tournament get to play in the NIT? I think a 14 field of Pittsburgh, Edmonton, Nashville, Toronto - maybe playing for draft position - Can’t deny it would be entertaining, since most of us thought those four teams would still be alive today
CONDORS, 2022-23 league champions, Reg Dunlop Mem Cup

12-team, H2H. Keep 12, but drop 2 of top four skaters, and also 2 of next six, then five more (from end-of-year rankings). One GK max.

i thought about the possibility of the rangers trading back a spot or simply selecting byfield and was buying into the idea for a while.

then i took a step back and remembered why gms typically dont make moves like that at least not in the top few picks especially when theres a clear #1. rangers should still pick laf and trade for a centre and/or re-sign strome for not too much. they already have Z so they dont need a top line centre. itd take at least a few years for byfield to be a nhl calibre possession driving centre assuming it even works out.

all the non-panarin/kreider/kaapo wingers are on the block as far as im concerned

There has never been a trade move within the top 4 picks in the draft. The top 5 - only once - in 2008. The Isles traded the 5th overall in ‘08 for the Leafs for the 7th overall, their 3rd rd pick, and the Leafs 2nd rd pick in ‘09.

I agree, but not sure how they get a quality 2C with the remaining wingers.
