Default Kucherov for Svechnikov + what?

    Hey guys

    16 team dynasty
G A PTS SOG HTS BLKS FOW TOI

I have a young team and I'm trying to build a monster... so I'm looking to acquire Svechnikov as I think now is the time get in before he explodes.

I'm thinking of dangling my Kucherov as he obviously is one of the most powerful trade chips

How much of a plus should I be expecting back from the Svech side? Give me some ideas in terms of players/prospects

    Cheers

It’s hard not knowing your setup, but I trade my McDavid/Morrissey for Aho/Svech/DeAngelo/two picks Last week. In many leagues, Kucherov is as good as McDavid...

So with Svech you need another great one, and Svech didn’t exploded yet. Will he be better than Kuch? Not sure....

Thanks for the reply. Its H2H categories... with said categories listed in OP

Damn that's a nice return! Congrats..

I thinking of asking for one of his prospects like Zegras, Tomasino or Zadina...

    But possibly more?

Svech hits and that is super valuable in this league... not sure if he has 100 pts upside tho

Kucherov is an elite talent that you try to acquire, not trade away. He's 27 years old and has years of elite production still in front of him. Unless the return was absolutely ridiculous, I'm building around Kucherov, not trading him away. The example above is in the ball park.

Using the example from above, Aho and Svech seems like a decent starting point for Kucherov. Don't aim low with a plus like Zegras (not to knock Zegras, he's just not enough).

Put me in this group. I wonder if - in 4 years - we will be getting threads about trading McDavid away, because at age 27, he'll just be too old.

I agree that building around Kucherov is a great idea but if you can get Svechnikov plus another young star with superstar potential such as Aho then that is a deal you can consider. This is even more true in a league that values hits.

Zegras is far from being enough but a Aho kind of player is too much IMO. I'd really, really rather have Svechnikov and Aho than Kucherov alone.

Can you tell us what are the other players you could ask for?

I guess it also depends on the depth of the league and how easy it would be to fill that empty slot with an impact player.

I hear what you guys are saying, and no argument there, in points only, Kucherov should be a firm hold

However, I think ya'll are over looking the counting categories.... Look at the top 20 scoring RW eligible players from the 2019-20 season:

Scoring is always the toughest to replace so Kucherov's value will always be higher than his ranking there, but it is a solid point.

Aho + Svech would not be enough for me to move Kucherov. Valid points happening above, but scoring are the most difficult categories to replace. A 27 year-old winger who was well on his way to his 3rd consecutive 100 point season is something you build around, not try to trade unless it is an unbelievable offer. Players like that are unicorns. Remember just 2 years ago he had 128 points. You can get the grit cheaper.

I love Aho, but I think 80-85 points is his upside, most years will be high 70's. Svech I think has similar upside with a bit more potential for grit. It's a decent starting point, but I still think there is a large gap. If someone would trade me McDavid (who I think in any positional league Kucherov's value is not far behind) with the best piece going back being one of Aho/Svech (leave that debate for another day) they I would need a new computer from mashing the accept button too hard!

Way too much focus on age and not enough on actual production in my opinion.

You're looking at moving a legit top 5-10 player in the league and you're hoping for prospects to bolster a trade with Svechnikov?

I'd want two Svechnikovs and one of those prospects for a Kucherov.

Did you miss the post that had Kucherov as the 15th best RWer in the league last season. Svechnikov was 17th.

In this league, I would prefer Svechnikov over Kucherov. If you can get another first line player in the deal along with Svechnikov, it's a definite accept from me.
