Welcome to the forum!
I wouldn't but I can see that you really need defenseman. I think Dach can reach 70-75 points and at 6'4 he's gonna get his share of hits.
I'm in a dynasty pool and looking to add a D before we draft. I was offered to trade Kirby Dach (19, 2 years left @$3.425M) for Miro Heiskanen (21, 1 year left @$3.394M). What do you guys think?
____________
My Team:
Forwards: Cirelli, Crosby, Dach, DeBrincat, Meier, Ovechkin, B. Tkachuk, M. Tkachuk, Wilson, Bertuzzi
Defense: Hedman, Klingberg, Myers

Minors: Hayton, Kahkonen, Oettinger
____________

It hurts to part company with Dach but I think you need Miro more than you need Kirby. It is also much more difficult to obtain high quality D than it is Forwards, the math is simple, there are typically twice as many desirable forwards to choose from as there are D. I believe Heiskanen is the real deal so as painful as it is, this deal makes sense. Others may have different methods, but I like to build my teams from the Net out, meaning, the first priority is good goal tending, the second is building a strong D and then move on to the Forwards. It works for me. With that in mind, I do this deal.
14 Team Roto; Keep 25; 12 F, 6 D, 2 G; 10 Farm; 5 Bench; 5 IR;
Salary Cap - 102.5 Mil
Scoring Cats: G, A, Pts, PIM, Hits, BS, SOG, F Points, D Points; Win+Ties+SO, GAA, SV%
Keepers
F: Aho, Larkin, DeBrincat, Vrana, Bennett, Scheifele, Kakko,Tolvanen, McBain,
D: Heiskanen, Fox, Toews, Lundqvist
G: Swayman, Andersen, Copley
Drops
F: Gaudreau, Terravainen, Puljujarvi, Kravstov, Zary
D: Brannstrom, Cernak, Alexeyev
G: Korpisalo, Merzlikins
FARM: Rossi, Berggren, Holtz, Savoie, Clarke, Tarasov, Wolf
I wouldn't. I try not to trade offensive forwards for defence especially when Heiskanen will be fighting Klingberg for pp1 time.
I would consider it if the Dman had a solid lock on PP1 spot or was Hughes /Makar.
I like Heiskanen here. Currently the main, if not only, negative on Heiskanen is Klingberg's presence. But there is value in knowing that Heiskanen is going to be as dependable a player, both in the NHL as well as for a fantasy floor, for the next decade and a half.
do not trade the next Getzlaf.
Welcome to the forums. Your post literally hurts my head, which just highlights the fact that your post is excellent. (Your signature is also extremely helpful).
Gun to my head, I'd probably try to get a small top-up on this deal, because I value F more than D (and I'm also a bit iffy on rostering both Klingberg and Heiskanen - my instinct is that only one can be 'the man' in Dallas, and that they'll both be there long-term).
Welcome to the forums.
I'd make this trade.
I love Dach but he's 2C in Chicago as long as the legend Jonathan Toews is there. Heiskanen is as close to 1D as it comes.
10 Team, Points Only, Cash League
25 Man Roster (no position), top 20 point getters count at end of month
Keep 20/25 at seasons end, Cut 5 to FA for redrafting
Goalie points W=2pt L=-1pt SHO=2pt
Stamkos, Tavares, Eichel, Mercer, JRobertson, RThomas, Kucherov, Nugent-Hopkins, Tuch, KConnor, Necas, Point, Konecny, SJarvis, Cozenz, Morrissey, Bouchard, Josi, Novak, Tolvanen, Peterka, Brink
G- Vasilevskiy, Sorokin, Oettinger

I would make the trade for Heiskanen. He's already a top notch D, and getting better (and expanded opportunities). Dach COULD be really good, but we don't know that yet. He liked good at times last year, but has a lot of growing into his frame to do before he's going to be much of a force in the league. I think that if he develops, he projects into the same tier as Heiskanen already is.
When we look closer at your team, you need a D upgrade (Myers, Klingberg even) more than you need to keep Dach in your forward group.
I like this deal for you because you need D, and you can lock up the Dallas PP, which admittedly isn't great at this point. You will have injury protection there, and Dach is close to your worst, if not your worst, forward right now.

I wouldn't. I know you need d but with the following working against miro:
1) no d bonus
2) the categories
3) the extra year of contract
I would think there is another way to get a dependable d ? Maybe FA?
I would do that trade yes.
Keeper's league, points only, 24 teams league Skaters: 1 pt for goal and 1 pt for assist, Goalie, 2 pts for win, + 2 pts for SO
I would look to move one of your Goalies first before Dach to improve your Dmen.
Demko or Dubnyk or 1 of your 2 in the minors.
This one is really, really tough. As much as I like Dach, I go with Heiskanen here.
A young 40 point dman with 60 point upside should be harder to acquire than a young 60 point forward with 80 point upside.
