I never understood that gm. One moment he's gonna take nice decisions and other times he's gonna take a shit ton of bad ones

That's true of many people in general. However, the ratio is the key, and also how big the decision is. If you sign a couple guys to cheap depth contracts, and they don't work out, no big deal. Blowing high draft picks, and bad FA deals can come back to bite you hard if there's no big positives to offset.Originally Posted by PicklePickle

Gotta be more info on the backend that hasn't got released yet. He's building something there and you don't just walk away from something he's heavily invested in without a good reason.

Apparently the new owner scheduled a dinner meeting with Hall and started to discuss contract details without Chayka there.

I think they "went for it" too early and he is taking the fall. Reset, and start again! Hall and Kessel were high profile disasters.

Freidman is awesome but he is just speculating, "piecing things together", as he himself said. Quit/fired does it really matter, and depends who you ask. "You can't fire me because I quit!"
