Yeah, I think there's an area here between Tkachuk not intentionally directing the blade at Scheifele, but still turning himself to try and have a bit more of an impact on a hit he was missing.

Jets are toast. They were owned up and down the ice by the flames. Scheifele and Laine out and seeing specialists today for injuries. This series is over and my first miss in predictions. I also went Jets heavy in the Dobber playoff pool. That sucks.

Tkachuk and Scheifele have worked out together the last few summers. I really don't think he planned, in those few milli-seconds, to chop his leg off.

For me, personally, I thing there is a much stronger argument for "reckless" (as compared to "premeditated").

Reckless is a good way of putting it. Kinda like his elbow a few years back to Doughty. Don't think it was intentional, but definitely a reckless play.

Reckless is definitely a good term to use. Should the NHL not be suspending reckless behaviour?

Big win for the Jets. I am surprised that they were able to rally around a couple of injuries to make this a series again.

I think Calgary got a little distracted and bogged down. Helle makes a big difference too.

I am impressed. I thought with Scheifele and Laine out that the Flames would be on route for a sweep

One thing you can always count on Calgary for is not taking advantage of situations like PPs and injured star players. If lackluster and disappointed were a hockey team, it'd be Calgary.

During the broadcast they said that Calgary had lost 9 straight game 2s. So after today that is 10 straight.

    Not shocked at all.

In my opinion, yes. Especially if there is a history of frequently being reckless.

That Pionk skate blade to Johnny was clearly intentional. Look at the way he whipped it around to kick him. Better be a hearing coming, there’s no reason a player needs to have his skate off the ice like that.

I mean he started out headhunting, and if Gaudreau didn’t move he could have ended his career. But whipping his skate around like that, could have ended his life if he hit an organ wrong. Such a dirty play.
