I received an offer and I wanted your opinion.

I receive:

Oliver Ekman-Larsson
Carter Verhaeghe

I give:

Cody Ceci
Warren Foegele

I don't really care about salary. I'm in a rebuild, but I want to buy-low for OEL so I can sell high later.
Is there a Leafs fan that can tell me if Ceci was that bad this year? or is it only media stuff. Good trade?

He's offering me:

OEL + Kase vs Hoglander + Denisenko + a mid round pick

Just want to know your opinion on those two prospects and if you see anything in Kase.

Salary can always be an issue if you take on too many of the bigger rebound contracts you could tie your hands for a better deal down the line. However, at that kind of cheap price I like the OEL side as you get the obvious best piece in the trade.

I also like Foegele a lot. That was the principal reason why I wasn't sure. But I think he's going to be stuck behind players like Aho, Svech, Necas, Teuvo, Staal, Trocheck and possibly Nino, Geekie , Suzuki...

Note: the same GM traded me Koivu for a 6th rounder (salary problem), then I traded Koivu for Foegele.

i agree I can see Foegele being best player in this deal as early as next year... I think Chychrun will start eating into OELs meetings soon an in general he has been on slow decline for a while

I see your point, we will see next year, I can always trade OEL again when the season starts

It's a done deal and I would have accepted as well. But, there are two factors here that make me nervous and they have both been mentioned alrady. Foegele is a wild card here, if he pans out, the other guy has himself a player. The other issue is in acquiring OEL as a buy low with the intent of moving him as a sell high. That might not happen, at least not as much of a "sell high" as you might like, as I too believe OEL will decline, we may already be seeing that. Still a good deal but not without some risk.

I don't expect a lot offensively but he's getting more and more PK minutes. Two-way defenseman are the most valuable in my league format.

If paying Foegele to get rid of that useless waste of skin Ceci, and you got OEL back, I'll take that any day. Foegele will be good but nothing special. Ceci is trash in both real life and fantasy.

I like Kase, and don't think I do a deal for just prospects including him.
