Was asking on here last week about going after Draisaitl for Eichel & Dahlin & a 2nd, and was rightly told it was a bad idea. Just now I traded Marner & an 8th for Draisaitl & a 9th. Sad as a Leaf fan to trade Marner, but I think that's a good price. What do you think? And YES, the other GM was a Leafs fan too, haha.

That's a great trade. If Draisaitl gets C status, then you have many great trade chips, if you need to get a winger. Nothing to worry about there. Well done.

Not gonna lie - I thought folks would like this one more. Are folks not high on Draisaitl? 105 points last year and 110 this year in a shortened season. Also, he often gets dual eligibility. When he gets LW, I think he's the top one in the game.

In what world is this a "fair trade"?! More like a total slam dunk, well done that's an incredible deal for you. I would pack Marner's bags for him and drive him to the airport if it meant getting Drai back.

Fair enough! I went ahead and listened to you - trading away Eichel and a pick upgrade to get Marner back. I had too many C (especially if Draisaitl doesn’t get his LW eligibility) and now I’ve got the double dream combos of McDavid/Draisaitl and Matthews/Marner, plus Pastrnak and a solid final D in Dahlin. Much better keeper balance now, and I own my favourite players too!

Thanks! I've definitely bled away most of my pick quality this off season, but in my mind I've got a pretty killer set of keepers now who are young and set to be studs for years. Worth it for that I believe.
