Who would you pick? Let's say you were to compete in approx 3 years from now

It is so difficult to gauge prospects, especially current year such as Drysdale. He will be a top 10 pick.

Personally, i would go with the more "proven" asset, hence Bouchard. He is more proven, in that he is in the AHL at the moment and played a handful of NHL games. He is also "closer" to being NHL ready.

Don't even know where Drysdale will end up so that's too difficult to say, however, if i HAD to, I'm picking the guy with the chance to PP with McDavid, Bouchard for me.

I'm going Bouchard just because he's farther along in the developmental path.

Makes sense, it seems like Bouchard might even be a buy low right now since his last season was a bit disapointing. Would you buy? I think I could swap my 4th overall rookie pick for Bouchard right now. I was planning on grabing Drysdale.

Any particular reason you were looking at Drysdale with #4 overall? I think the #4 pick has more value than either Drysdale or Bouchard (Raymond, Rossi, Stutzle being your best bets there) so I think you could move it for an even better return if you shopped it around the league.

In one cap league I moved #3 and T. Harley for #11 and Sean Monahan - solid player (and contract) in his prime.

we dress 10F and 5D each week. I feel like it's way easier to get a good forward vs a good Dmen.
Each year I'm always stuck with defs like Martinez, Montour, struggling Sanheim/Ghost.

I guess it's the frustration but there's always an okay-ish F on the free agent market, I'm thinking Kreider/Haula type of players. There's nothing but deception on the FA market when you're looking for a good Dmen. It feels like you have to draft theise and keep them until they're nhl ready.

Otherwise I really like what I see from Stutzle and Rossi.

What else could you trade #4 for? Have you shopped it around? I feel like you could get some more immediate help than Bouchard.

Well I do have Denisenko, Cozens and Zegras that I could shop around. It seems easier to get good forward prospects. Would you swap one of these? I'm pretty high on all 3 of them to be honest

Bird in hand and all that probably better to keep what you have. I still think shopping for a guy like Theodire, Werenski, Provorov, etc even if you have to pay up for them, would be the best way to go.

I personally would go with Bouchard here. I've seen both play live many times, and while it's tough to assess as Drysdale is younger than Bouchard, EB seems the much more complete defenseman. Drysdale is more of a Letang and Bouchard is more of a Pietrangelo in my opinion; not as defensive as AP but better than Drysdale defensively and more physically capable than JD.

The Edmonton PP is almost certainly better than any that Drysdale will end up on (if he makes it).

I guess that's what I needed to hear. Just curious, would you take Kaprisov over those two?

Unless you're moving the piece right away for help (in which case Stutzle's over-inflated draft stock may be worth more) then I would take Kaprizov.
