I'm wondering if this will open the door for for a few more teams making the playoffs in the future via a trimmed back play in to generate extra revenue .It will also keep more teams in the thick of playoff berth keeping more fan bases engaged for longer time instead checking out in early march
7 vs 10 , 8 vs 9 seeds play best of 5 while rest of the playoff teams get a week off .

The schedule still seems so up in the air. Looking only as far as the 6th, the times are all still TBD. I am not entirely sure why that is, although I have some theories (putting elimination games in prime time?). Has anyone heard or read why they haven't ironed out the game schedule beyond a certain point?

Definitely a solid first game. Doesn't quite have the "no inch given" feel of the playoffs, but the hockey is better than I was expecting.
