    Default Mining for Kreider Stats

    Sorry if this is the wrong place to post it, but it's a general fantasy hockey question, so this seemed the most logical?

    nhl.com used to have a couple great filters on their stats page, and it would appear that they've removed two of my favourite filters: filtering by height and by weight.

    I was trying to mine stats to find 29-33 year old seasons for players around Kreider's size and production to help me figure out when to cut bait and trade him in a dynasty league (and to arm myself to negotiation tools in trade talks). Does anyone know a site where I'd be able to customize for height and weight?

    Interesting idea. I think there more variables to it though, but the only other options I can think of would be to search by teams and do it that way--but probably a little time consuming

    @OP,

    Have you tried your luck with Dobber’s Reports? I know if you view the “compare players” it will list the players Age, Weight, Height amount other specific personal stats. I haven’t tried generating a specific report to see if it shows, but if compare players show that data in a table, it would be easy to extract that table into Excel. Give it a whirl!

    I'll say one thing, this is an interesting strategy. Not sure it might work, but who knows. I will say that height and weight are seriously trumped by hockey IQ and fast feet, soft and quick hands in today's NHL. We see more and more highly skilled and smaller players in the league today, and some of them are not afraid to throw their weight around.

    totally agree but Kreids is a rare breed and faster than many of the diminutive forwards. They try to throw their weight around with him and they'll die and go to hell, ask Stamkos how trying to hit him works out.

    You might check out Stathead, which is the report engine of hockey-reference.com and the other affiliated sites.

    Thanks for the responses! One league mate was trying to sell me on Kreider having a Jamie Benn/Wayne Simmonds like decline, and offered me Hoglander for Kreider straight up. I laughed out loud, and spat out my beer when I saw it haha.

    If there's a way I can show comparable players that went on to enjoy productive seasons after their age 30 season, I could probably get a nice return for my rebuilding team!

    Kreider and his speed are so unique, that it's tough to compare him to anyone...

    Wait to make a deal in-season.

    There's also a world of difference between Simmonds & Benn's declines.
