    Default Who's My Final Keeper?

    20 team Fantrax league that is expanding to 24 teams with an expansion draft next week. We are allowed to keep 20 players. We dress 3C, 6W, 3F, 6D, 2G each day and have 3 reserves. We also have room for up to 27 prospects (<100GP for skaters and <50GP for goalies). We us the NHL AAV and the NHL salary cap plus 10% as our cap. My team may be slightly over the salary cap depending on the new contracts for the free agents. The scoring system is

    G = 4
    A = 2
    +/- = 1
    SOG = 0.5
    PPP = 1
    SHP = 2
    Hits = 0.5
    Blocks = 0.5
    FOW = 0.1
    W = 6
    GA = -2
    SV = 0.25
    SHO = 6
    Shootout Loss = 3

    I am trying to decide on who to protect with my last 2 spots.

    Give me Mikey Anderson's ELC.
    It creates cap space. Anderson should post decent HIT & BLK numbers... he had 10 each in 6gp last year... that's 5pts each (at half per).
    He's also got decent offensive skills, not great, but passable.

    Beyond Doughty - the Kings pro D group is absolutely garbage.
    Anderson could be a top 4D man sooner than we know.
    He may not be the top producing guy... but bang-for-your-buck, he'll be solid and you've got two years of ELC still ahead.

    Kings need to keep pucks out of the net (& zone entries limited).
    So I think having a steady minute-eater, like Anderson, might work out just fine.
    TOI = opps to block & hit... and that's the points for this format.

    Besides... look at this guy... the smile, the winning (two Frozen Four champs w/Minn-D)... sign him up!

    Agree with Pengwin7, I'm protecting Anderson here.

    Most of the forwards are various levels of the same, but Anderson is a super cheap D who helps with the grit in your league. Given that you may be "slightly over" the cap, I want his productive ELC.

    I would have to guess you own Mikey Anderson in WHL...

    (clicks over to Fantrax)

    Yup... there he is on the Spitz!

    Despite the title saying "Who is the FINAL keeper", your poll asked for which 2 to keep.

    I went with Gourde and Johnson (but I don't have pretty pics like P7 does, so he makes a compelling arguement for the Kid in LA).

    I wouldn't go for either of the TB guys - just not worth the contract.

    I think it comes down to personal preference on 2/3 of Sissons, Wallmark, Anderson.
    I know it's tough to see Sissons' deal as a good one right now, but I think him and Jarnkrok get a big boost in the offseason when the Preds move a couple bodies out from their forward core.

    Sorry I only voted for 1 in the poll, read title, thought who I'd want most, and voted for him.

    Looking at your forwards again, I'd take the cheapest guy who isn't old, as this isn't exactly a wide range of production:
    F: Colton Sissons (2.89), Tyler Johnson (3.41), Lucas Wallmark (3.04), Artturi Lehkonen (3.09), Yanni Gourde (2.86), Austin Watson (2.83), Richard Panik (2.71)

    If you think you can trade Johnson, or that he may get dealt by Tampa into more opportunity, I can see protecting him, but I'm still worrying about your cap.
