I would absolutely consider dealing Price. You have Elvis & Igor as options, and frankly Carey is a relatively boring name nowadays, and you have some fresh goalies that are options. I'm sure you can deal a goalie for help somewhere.

I also am generally not a fan of keeping 0 defenders when you start 6, and have elite options in your league to keep. I'd prefer to keep one, unless basically nobody ever keeps any D.

Thanks for the response, I'll try and get you some rep.

Glad to know I'm on the right page.

Price is the number one asset I'm trying to move, issue is though I'm in a pool with all Habs fans so his value his skewed.

They only see his low W count, not that he's ranked in the top 5 to 10 in our fantasy stats for the past several years, so I likely won't get good value for him.

I am having one conversation with a GM about Price for Morgan Rielly, Alex Newhook and 2020 1st round pick which would be no worst than 4th, but the lowest odds at being 1st.

I second Shesterkin over Price - they seem like they're at the opposite ends of their careers. Shesterkin is the next big goalie in NYR on a quickly improving team where Price, who still is on the verge of elite, is on a sputtering Montreal team who seems to not really get any better.
I like keeping a dman over Kuznetsov. He isn't very good in leagues that count any sort of peripherals plus WSH was demoting him to PP2 in the second half of last year. I would rank your dman as Theodore, Pieterangelo, Weber (dropped due to age), Provorov, Trouba (dropped due to likely never getting PP1).
I do really like Mark Stone but he is injury prone and seems like his ceiling is a point per game. Possibly shop him around and see if anyone will bite on his big name? Hopefully a return of a forward that would offer more peripherals.

I already am keeping Shesterkin, he's on my farm so doesn't count towards my 9 keepers.

Is the preference to keep Theodore over Kuznetsov based on the fact you prefer a more balanced set of keepers?

Comparing the two apart Kuznetsov is the better player of the two, no?

young defender on the rise on a team that will be good for several years to come with Stone in peak of prime. He is a volume shooter from the back end and is the PP1 rearguard. Kuzy is buried behind Backstrom who will not drop off any time soon because of his elite brain. Besides points, Kuzy does not bring much to the table IMO.

Second this. Price is not a significant upgrade over Gibson or Elvis though elvis sample size is small.

Kuznetsov doesnt bring enough multi category power. He could go off for 90 points again but that's a longshot.

Package Kuzy with a goalie and see what you can get back for F upgrade. Keep whichever goalie is left.

I would take that deal as offered, honestly. Newhook & the pick are free keeps. You need some D keepers, honestly.

I would be checking out the teams that need goaltending, since it is keep 9 only try and make a trade for a stud D man. You can trade one of your goalies & a keeper F for a D. Might as well overpay for the stud D. Should be keeping 2 D.
10 teams league there will be lots of decent forwards available and getting top D is tougher. I might even keep Pieterangelo, depending on where he ends up.

    Little trade update:

    Out:
    Carey Price
    Evgeny Kuznetsov

    In:
    Morgan Rielly
    Vasil Podkolzin
    2020 2nd
    2022 2nd
    2023 2nd

Keepers looking like this right now, but I'm working on a M.Tkachuck deal in exchange for some picks, in which case I'd replace Theodore.

    Larkin

I think you got a steal with the Price deal. If you plan on using those 2nds great, but those are nice "pot sweeteners" for future trades.

I literally just finished off a trade with those 2 2nds and a 1st to pick up M.Tkchuck so we're looking like this for our final 9

    Horvat
    Larkin
    Mackinnon
    Landeskog
    Panarin
    Stone
    M.Tkachuck
    Rielly
    Hellebuyck

I'm liking this well rounded team, now just need some hockey back lol

So it turns out to be:
    OUT:
    Price, Kuz, 1st
    IN:
    M. Tkachuk, Morgan Rielly, Vasil Podkolzin, 2nd

    I'd say that's a win.
