Exclamation Tarasenko vs DeBrincat Points only

For league in signature below. Points only. Dress 2 RW per week.

I have Aho and Svech. as my weekly duo. Picked up the cat in a trade late in the year. I may be looking at keeping 3 RWs into next year. I may also look at trading DeBrincat this offseason.

With that said, who do you like better over the next few seasons in a points only format? I've owned Tarasenko in the same pool and traded him away years ago.

Both seem very similar to me in what I can expect.

Just curious is all. Is Tara. an upgrade as a 3rd RW over DeBrincat?

    Will rep where I can.

Hockey Pools? Too many to mention. Points only, salary cap and dynasty.

For the next couple years I have to go with Tarasenko for the consistency purposes.

The last two years of DeBrincat have been quite different 76 points in 82 games, then only 45 points in 70 games.

Whereas Tarasenko is 73,74,75,68,66 in the last 5 years.

    DeBrincat for me.
    Purely age-based decision.
Tank turns 29 in December... and that's the wrong side of the hill, for me.

STL also might see AP walk in off-season, cap crunch.

Debrincat for me in points-only. Stats-wise I think it will be close but age wins when you consider trade value. In the eyes of people who can't think beyond one extreme or the other (an alarming amount in 2020 and likely to get worse) Tarasenko might as well be an AHLer when he turns 30.

Like'm both but give me the red hot Cat. The hawks are going to grow with this kid and I see him becoming every bit as lethal as Tank is, or WAS rather. I'm a little concerned about Age like Peng said especially coming off such a serious injury.

    Debrincat gets my vote.

I am on the side of DeBrincat. I think this guy becomes better then Tarasenko.

I like Tarasenko and still see that he is a solid player yet for another 2-3 seasons. But during those 2-3 seasons. DeBrincat will be there with him for points or better. He is building with Strome, they also have 2019 #3 overall Dach that he could play with.

As much as I want to agree with the majority, I still prefer Tarasenko going forward for a few more years.

I like the Cat here. Three reasons: Age, Equal Skill and Health.

Age: 6 years difference in age, that's significant prolonged production

Skill: One way or the other, it's close IMO

Health: If I'm a Tank owner I'm certainly worried about that shoulder. Surgery and 5 months recovery is no small thing. Will it impact his game and is he susceptible to re injuring it? These are issues and associated risk with Tank, not so for the Cat.

I would go with Cat. He's going to play with a young stud team and probably with Dach for a long time!

Thank you all for the timely response. I ran out of rep towards the bottom. It's a fairly even split in the poll, but the cat is winning in the thread count. I'll keep the cat and think about my next move when we get closer to the real season. I don't think you can go wrong with either. I do like the age factor and the hawk's upcoming and current supporting cast.

I'd prefer Tarasenko as a player to have in a vacuum right now, but in your shoes I prefer something other than a RW to help your lineup. Therefore, I'd keep what you have, as I expect the trade value to remain stronger.

Cat for me... Blues never really have a single point producer, and Hawks seem to let a few guys go nuts if they have it in them. I think you will see Tanks' career numbers resemble the same percentage decreases that Hossa's career had after his shoulder started to break down.
