Default New league - best starting team?

Hey guys. New 32 team cap dynasty starting up. Everyone will choose one team and get to choose 2 "vets" (over 82 games played) and one "rookie" (under 82 games played).

This means a guy like Makar can only be kept in a rookie spot, not a cat spot, so no keeping Makar and Byram or something.

Who would you say are the top 5 teams to choose from? No idea yet where I'll be picking in the team selection draft but just looking for some general ideas.

There is also a "Seattle" franchise someone can pick. They would then be able to select from any team that has already been chosen and grab players from any of those teams.

    Thanks!

Top 5 teams you should look at. I am not ranking them 1st to 5th. Just the 5 teams I think sit at the top
    Edmonton
    Boston
    Tampa
    Colorado

Also don't over look Vegas, Toronto, Vancouver, NYR, Pittsburgh, Carolina, and Detroit.

These are probably my top 5 teams.

Edmonton - McDavid, Draisaitl, Bouchard (or Yamamoto)
Colorado - MacKinnon, Rantanen (or Landeskog), Makar
Buffalo - Eichel, Dahlin, Olofsson (or Luukkonen or Cozens)
NY Rangers - Panarin, Zibajenad, Shesterkin (if you believe the hype and there's goalie stats)
    Vancouver - Pettersson, Miller, Hughes

Florida is also pretty close with Barkov and Huberdeau at $5.9M each for the next few years. They are both in the top 13 for points over the past two seasons. I just have no trust in their prospects.

For some reason, I thought this was in league adverts.
Edmonton, Boston, Tampa, Colorado, Carolina, Florida, Rangers, Toronto, Pittsburgh are all solid.

I think the Seattle team will have some very interesting options, as there are teams with 3 or more good vet skater options, and teams with 2 or more youth options.

Depending on how GK stats count - WPG with Hellebuyck and Laine (or Connor), and prospect = Vesalainen, or even OTT with Brady Tkachuk, Chabot, and Josh Norris. These might not be top 5 like EDM or NYR, but you may need options.
CONDORS, 2022-23 league champions, Reg Dunlop Mem Cup

12-team, H2H. Keep 12, but drop 2 of top four skaters, and also 2 of next six, then five more (from end-of-year rankings). One GK max.

    Stutzle, Sergachev
    Keller, Doughty, Verhaeghe, ErikssonEk
    E.Lindholm, Barzal, J.Gaudreau, Huberdeau, S. Wright

Like others have said the EDM/TB/COL/BUF/TOR... are all great options and will go early.

Carolina is a pretty nice option that could slip : Aho, Svechnikov, Necas
Philadelphia have less sexy skaters names, but Hart is still under 82 games : 2 of Konecny/Couturier/Provorov & Hart

You should make the exercice with every teams and rank them, I think Seattle would be a wise choice around the 15th spot.

If you are drafting later in the draft and want a sneaky pick for the rookie one - Carter Hart only has 74 Games played. Adding him to Konecny and Couturier might be a sneaky start to a team that could be competitive in a couple seasons.
