Predicting prospect D points is almost as hard as predicting prospect goalies. They usually take longer to develop into what we expect to be the norm for them. My best guess:

    Smith
    Sandin
    Addison
    Perunovich
    Merkley

Merkley is definitely one of the most talented in this group, but I am just not sure he makes it. Who knows. I used to think that about DeAngelo too and he found a way. For now, I'll keep Merkley near the bottom.
10 Team, Points Only, Cash League

25 Man Roster (no position), top 20 point getters count at end of month
Keep 20/25 at seasons end, Cut 5 to FA for redrafting
    Goalie points W=2pt L=-1pt SHO=2pt

Stamkos, Tavares, Eichel, Mercer, JRobertson, RThomas, Kucherov, Nugent-Hopkins, Tuch, KConnor, Necas, Point, Konecny, SJarvis, Cozenz, Morrissey, Bouchard, Josi, Novak, Tolvanen, Peterka, Brink

    G- Vasilevskiy, Sorokin, Oettinger

    Smith
    Addison
    Perunovich
    Sandin
    Merkley

Again, Merkley is the most offensively gifted, it's just a question of whether he can reset his brain to be a committed professional.

You're both right about Merkley's gifts and risks. Having watched him develop in Guelph, I've seen the sheer dominance and effortless skating slowly give way to a swelled head. He's never looked the same. IF you can't hack it in the OHL... I really don't have faith you can actually find your traction in the NHL.

I'd definitely put him at the bottom of the list.

Thanks a lot, that confirm what I'm thinking about Merkley. Boom or bust, nothing in the middle
