NHL 2 Per Entry Draft - Discussion

I would be good to go with 4 teams.

Draft two players per draft class.

And do the last 24 draft classes (which would mean each team gets to pick the draft year 6 times) or 28 draft classes (7times per person)

24 draft classes = 2020-1997. 28 = 2020-1993.

so within each individual draft, do we want to do it NHL draft style or snake? nhl draft style would give the draft chooser picks 1 and 5 out of 8. or do we want to snake it and give the draft chooser picks 1 and 8? the latter would require the picker to weigh between picking a great #1 overall pick and draft depth to ensure they get a good #8, but the former gives the picker the opportunity to load up on a draft they want. im cool either way.

I like the strategy idea of doing it snake for each entry class. Adds another element to... but the thing I like best about getting two picks for the draft is we get to analyze more dept of the draft.

The thought I have about making it position specific is are we taking away from truly analyzing the depth of each draft class?

If I have to draft 6 D men and 3 Goalies...we might not end up seeing the best 8 or 10 players drafted from each draft class?

For me, the whole fun of these drafts we’ve been doing is building a team. Who can assemble the best looking team you know? Rather than just picking BPA every round.

Important clarification

You CAN take a player that went undrafted. They must be taken in the first year they were eligible for the NHL entry draft. But, if the player was passed over their first year(s) of eligibility and eventually taken, they must be taken in the year they were actually drafted.

What a biased pick eh!?

He played for the junior team that I go and watch and then got drafted to my Flyers. I think he has the skill to be a Norris candidate but not sure if he will ever win it cause his all around game will prevent him from scoring 70 points that the voters so incorrectly covet.
