    Default DeAngelo in a dynasty

After last years season, DeAngelo finished a top 10 defenceman in our dynasty league. As a Tony D owner, just wondering what other people would do in the given situation.

In your opinion is he a hold or a sell high?

Obviously some (a lot) depends on your league setting, and what other defensemen you have, or can acquire. But overall, with Adam Fox likely to pass him on the Rangers’ PP1 depth chart by ‘21-‘22...?? Sell high.

12-team, H2H. Keep 12, but drop 2 of top four skaters, and also 2 of next six, then five more (from end-of-year rankings). One GK max.

Depends on a lot of things, notably if he is back on the Rangers.

You'd have to offer more info to get accurate replies.

    1. League type (Dynasty vs. Limited Keeper vs. One -year, Roto vs. H2H vs. Points only) Note: A points league that gives point values to categories does not equal points only.
    2. Salary or non-salary (also follow NHL salary cap hit or another type of salary setting)
    3. Scoring categories
    4. Full team Roster - Gives perspective when discussing trades
    5. Forward position differentiation (i.e. C/LW/RW, or simply F) - Important when discussing trades.
    6. Daily starts vs. Weekly starts
    7. How many players at each position iced per night. (i.e. 2G - That is a big one that makes a huge difference when discussing advice). Minimum goalie starts (i.e. 1 per week, 2 per week)
    8. Number of teams in the league - Important when talking goalies. There are 30 teams in the NHL meaning 30 starters in the NHL. If you're in a league with 16 teams that ices 2G per night..etc.
    9. League Provider -Don't assume that everybody uses the same league provider as you as some providers have different position eligibility among other things.
10 Team, Points Only, Cash League

25 Man Roster (no position), top 20 point getters count at end of month
Keep 20/25 at seasons end, Cut 5 to FA for redrafting
    Goalie points W=2pt L=-1pt SHO=2pt

Personally, I sell high whenever I can. Whether you can sell Tony D is impossible to know since we know nothing about your league or whether you've received any offers.

My guess is his price won't fetch what you'd expect of a top 10 D, but that's my humble speculation.

Not worried about Tony D. If the Rags trade or let him walk he will end up in a nice spot with a large role.

Agreed. His underlying numbers were among the elite Dmen last season. Also, the chemistry he built with Panarin and Zbad would lead me to believe he will re sign with NYR.

I am selling high if the return is right. The blue line is going to get murky once Lundkvist crosses the pond. Fox is more well rounded than Tony and Nils laser slapshot will be given a chance on the top unit if his game translates. I dealt Tony and Kapanen for Couturier mid season this year in a redraft and do not regret it.
